Had rls since childhood but not labelled then. I have been on alternative roprinole and neupro for many years, also gabapentin up to 1200mg. Over last three months managed to wean off everything as I felt augmentation was starting. Feelings mire intense and earlier. Paid for private UK neurologist but

Mildly Burning After Withdrawing From Neupro
Hi All, As I have posted before, recently I withdrew from Neupro with the help of Buprenorphine. It has been 6 weeks now without any dopamine agonist and my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. Unfortunately, issues have come up recently that I thought someone might be able shine some light

Buprenorphine and constipation.
Can anyone tell me how constipating Buprenorphine is please? I’ve heard a lot about the nausea it causes but not that other side effect of all morphine drugs. Is it better or worse than other opioids? As it is supposed to be the best one for controlling RLS and my Neurologist is going to ask my GP to

Dear Everyone, About 3 months ago, I started withdrawing from Neupro with the help of Buprenorphine. Buprenorphine is only available as a patch in Brasil where I live. I am now free of any dopamine agonist for over 2 months and continue to use Buprenorphine to effectively control my RLS. The quality

update from Ruffabug (End of life plan)
A big thank you to those who kindly replied to my post of a couple weeks ago entitled HELP PLEASE TO REDUCE DOSE OF NEUPRO .To remind you I have terminal cancer with roughly six to nine months life expectancy. After reading your replies I decided not to try to reduce the Dopamine Agonist Receptor drugs

Help - kindling?
As described in my other posts, my dopamine agonist withdrawal is awful. I suffer from DAWS, and I've done several stays in an hospital neurology service, and they are doing their best to help me, but something is awfully wrong. I got out of the hospital the day after yesterday. Yesterday, I had a

Dopamine Agonist Withdrawal Syndrome (DAWS)
https://dc.etsu.edu/asrf/2024/schedule/123/ A case report of DAWS presenting as confusion, emotional liability and headache. Most of us who have been through withdrawal from Ropinirole, Pramipexole and Neupro recognise these symptoms, but hopefully, this article and others will help doctors to understand

Help please to reduce dose of Neupro
I have terminal cancer and in January was given an average of six months to live. It is now three months on and I have very few symptoms so I expect to live quite a lot longer than predicted. Having had severe RLS with PLMD for 50 years, and having been put on Ropinerole 20 years ago, I have had augmentation

Dealing with painful dopamine agonist withdrawal: advice needed
Those of you that have read my posts know that I'm experiencing an extremely difficult dopamine agonist withdrawal syndrom (DAWS). Now I'm at 60% of my initial 2mg dose of Neupro, i.e 1.2mg. I also take 300mg of pregabaline, 100mg of tradonal extended release, 0.5mg of clonazepan, and 0.125mg of alprazolam

Free of Dopamine Agonist But ...
Today, with the help of Buprenorphine, I am about 6 weeks free of Neupro. It is no exaggeration to say that I have not slept consistently this well for 30 years. It is absolutely a miracle. I could not be more thankful for the help I have received here that has gotten me to this place. However, there

looking for a neuro who is open to prescribing opioids to patients in NY state
After several years on Neupro and Gabapentin I tapered off Neupro but my symptoms persist. Looking for a neuro who prescribes opioids. I’m in NY and haven’t found one here. Called Yale cause I heard Dr Koo sees patients in NY but Yale said that’s incorrect.

Neupro side effects
Neurologist suggested adding two mg Neupro patches to regime of Zadago plus Madopar 1.5 three times a day. Diagnosed 7 years ago, first twitch 13 years ago. Only lasted one day as I had nausea, vomiting, headache, cold sweats and sleepiness. Is this normal? I have had previous similarly adverse experience

Update on My Neupro Withdrawal
After all of the positive comments I wrote yesterday in my previous post things took a turn for the worse. Last night, the 5th without the Neupro patch was pretty awful. Every time I fell asleep, a pain would attack both thighs waking me and sending me walking until the attack subsided. The episodes

Another Withdrawing from Dopamine Agonist Question
Hello Everyone, It may seem over the top, but every time I post here, I feel the need to verbally genuflect to show my respect and thanks to those who are the foundation of this site. Thank you. First, the good news for me is that I have not put a Neupro patch on in 5 days! My second attempt to put

Last step of Neupro withdrawal
Hi Everyone, First, I would like to say again how deeply grateful I am to this community. In the 50 years of suffering through RLS, never, never have I gotten more valuable information and support. If I had only found you earlier. I saw my neurologist here in Brasil yesterday. He is a doctor who I

Advice on using Kratom
I have found kratom here in São Paulo. I wonder if any one can give some pointers on how to use. Tea? I am about to cut my 1 mg Neupro Patch in half and I am hoping the kratom might help me get by any rough spots. Thanks so much. R

Trying to determine the right pace for tapering use of Neupro
I have started my second attempt at withdrawing for a dopamine agonist. This time Neupro. The first attempt was Mirapex. SueJohnson suggested I switch to different medication, but an appointment with my neurologist here in Brasil is not so easy to get so I would like to continue to decrease my intake

Oxycodone - the way forward or a dead end?
I have only posted here briefly once but I have been following this great forum for some time. My story is very familiar. Have had RLS for 14 years, was prescribed all the available RLS medication: Ropinirole, Pramipexole (both miraculous at the beginning) Neupro patch ( never tolerated it), Gabapentin

restless legs in Turkey
hello again everyone. As some of you may know I’ve been traveling through Europe and South America. It’s been challenging because of my restless legs but I decided to do it now because at 57 these legs won’t be getting any better. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with using the healthcare
