I can't cope with this much more!
Evening all, I hope everyone is ok. I have just been discharged from hospital, and I'm struggling again (been to acute medicine clinic today for nebs). I've lost count of the number of admissions now but I have just had enough, of bouncing in and out of hospital, of not being able to work...not being

Major surgery and cough problems
I'm soon to have open heart surgery to replace my aortic valve (born with defect). I still get a cough from my small airways disease/type of asthma, which is tons, tons better through using Qvar, but I still cough a few times everyday. I'm concerned about the imapct of this cough postoperatively as my

Ok, so I'm brittle, range from *ok * to dreadful. Best ever pf is 650, but use 600 as a marker as my team has seen this recently. Worse ever pf has been <80, during a "" life threatening"" attack. I got out of hospital 2 days ago after 10 days in - 9 of which I was on IV stuff. My discharge letter

Just a quick idea before i see GP on monday, would be nice from the people who might know! On an average day i think my resting HR is around 90bpm, assuming ive not just taken my reliever, (but have taken my fostair and uniphyllin) and during an attack i tend to sit around 120, even with b2b nebs.

I am seriously ill at the moment.
I have never in my 18 years of life been seriously ill, but now for the first time, it's happening, and by god it's scary. I am basically having severe breathing difficulties, I've had a very rough few days. I went to the NHS walk in center on Sunday because I had a wheezy/tight chest, sore throat and

So fed up I could cry
Here I am on my third week of having a chest infection which is really upsetting my asthma, there's only so much coughing, wheezing, tight chest and breathlessness and sleepless nights you can take. I'm on maximum of all my medication and still my peak flow is ranging from 150 - 70 and my oxygen sats

Atrovent and Spiriva?
Hi, My gp has just changed me over to spiriva to take once a day from atrovent 4 times a day. Was wondering whether anyone has any experiences as whether it has helped get more control? I have been told that the spiriva replaces atrovent as it is a long acting version of the same drug. Compared

Feeling sad
My son Thomas has had brittle asthma since he was nine months old - he is now 12 years old. Even after all of this time I am still terrified when he starts to have an attack and he has had many. We have finally being given a nebuliser at home and that has helped as well as having the steroids at home

Nebuliser due for sale at Lidl for £19.99.
I was just checking what stuff will be for sale at Lidl and saw this. Due for sale on the 7th of October. I would suggest checking with your respiratory nurse, before purchasing though, if you are unsure. http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/SID-DB6AF840-008C9A8F/www_lidl_uk/hs.xsl/our-offers-2491.htm?action

Not sure what to do with current exacerbation
I'm feeling very frustrated with my current exacerbation: not sure what to do, when to go back to GP, when to make a fuss.I don't want to wear him out with my frequent flares, so trying to limit visits to really serious situations. But what the heck does ""serious"" mean when every day I'm spending
