Appointment with Endocrinologist (finally)
Hi all, trust everyone is well, after 7 months of waiting for all my thyroid results from my doctors and receiving nothing even after I requested them on more than one occasion and went in to speak to them, I have now received an appointment for endo. I had a total thyroidectomy when I was 17 because

Thyroid App/Skin Products
Hi. Recently somebody posted a message saying that there was a Thyroid App that you could use for scanning items etc to see if they were Thyroid friendly and I can’t remember what it was called and wondered if anybody could help at all? The cleanser that I used to use was by Green People but they’ve

T3 (Cytomel): How would you fit it in these results? Or would you? And all the mistakes I have made on this journey
Latest results (overjoyed to be finally here) - TSH .74 (.32 to 4) T4 14 (9 to 19) T3 4.2 (2.6 to 5.8) I am on 262.5 mcg levothyroxine (Note: In 50s so 50×5 & 1/4 of a 50) I feel what I would deem pleasantly okay. Always have felt the best on NDT, but I needed so much I could no longer afford it. And

genetic tests for conversion issues etc
hi lovely forum users I’ve finally got an endo appointment via my doctor no date yet. I doubt they’ll smile on my taking ERFA but I’ve no intention of going back to Levo only as it worked less and less for me over the years. I’ve wondered if I have a T4 to T3 conversion issue and have found a blue horizon

Total vs Free T4 and T3 tests
A regular question is whether we should test Free T4 and/or T3, or Total T4 and/or T3. I was reading the current prescribing information for Armour Thyroid (in the USA) and noticed this issue is actually addressed: [i]Changes in TBg concentration should be taken into consideration in the interpretation

Seeking reassurance
I’m really struggling and hoping for some reassurance from anyone (my background and test results are in my Bio and first post). I’ve been on increased dose of 75mcg levothyroxine for two weeks. Symptoms improved the first two days but since then I’ve been feeling awful. In addition to my usual symptoms

Thyroid Nodules and Low Ferritin Connection
Has anyone successfully eliminated thyroid nodules by elevating ferritin levels? I believe there is a significant connection between the two (found some studies also). I do not have any health issues (except low ferritin and thyroid nodules) but I am curious about how many of you have observed this relationship

Why would my FT4 change?
Hi, My thyroid has been ok for some years now, I have generally felt quite well. A recent GP blood test flagged up that my FT4 is at the bottom of the range. I am currently taking 120mg of NDT, I was on 240mg for many years but was told I must reduce my dosage as my TSH was 0.05. I reduced the dosage

Graves Disease
Hi, I have just been diagnosed with Graves Disease/hyperthyroidism and been prescribed Carbimazole. Can anybody tell me if they've had any side effects? I'm concerned about taking them because I have a holistic approach to everything, I can't remember the last time I took pharmaceuticals. I've read that

T3 affecting sex hormones
Hi, I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid earlier this year. I am currently taking 25mg T4 (50mg caused significant bloating) and 30mg T3 as split doses. I'm on a high dose of adrenal support as my Cortisol & DHEA were shown to be very low in a Dutch test earlier this year. Since starting T3

goitre scan
A couple of years ago I had a goitre that was obstructing my breathing at night. I was sent for a scan but missed my appointment. It has since I presume got smaller as my breathing is now fine thanks to some T3. I just wondered if it would still be nessasary to get a scan to check for nodules etc.

Bench mark blood tests before switching to NDT
I would welcome any comments or advice on these results and on the process of switching from levothyroxine to NDT. Thank you! Hypothyroidism I have been taking levothyroxin 100 mg for over 30 years since my early 40s. (This is my only medication. Otherwise I keep healthy with yoga, regular exercise
