NDT from Germany or Denmark
Hi all, After a disastrous health meltdown on levothyroxine I've been very happy on Armour NDT for several years - except now I can't afford it. Can anyone explain how to get comparable NDT medication within the EU? How good are they and what kind of cost? Do I need a prescription and if so how do I

Testing for effectiveness of B vits
I'm having cancer treatment and as some may recall, have several co-morbidities. I've added B12 lozenges and Thorne basic B to my pharmacy intake. Firstly, how long after initiation should i test to see any improvement? It's 4 weeks so far. Secondly, an idiot question - do i need to test separately

Atrophied Thyroid Gland (1 side only) & Vascular abnormalities showing in ultrasound…
Hi, I have only one side thyroid gland (believed to be by birth, though I am not convinced). A recent thyroid ultrasound report stated vascular abnormalities, not expanded on. Having read up a little often a lot of literature online says frequently relates hyperthyroid. A study revealed that often

Will I ever feel better?
Good evening everyone, please can anyone help. After feeling unwell end of September I had bloods done my TSH was 6.7 and T4 level was 17.9 pmol( Normal range 12.0 to 22.0). After suffering with terrible symptoms for 2 months including swelling of the neck my GP finally prescribed thyroxine only 25mcg

Levothyrixine no longer working?
hi everyone. Around 6 months ago I was diagnosed with Hashimotos. My Serum thyroid peroxidase antibody concentration was 173.9 ku/L and my TSH was off kilter. I was prescribed 25mg then increased to 50mg. After a few weeks I felt like a new woman. In the last month I’ve started to feel the same as pre-Levothyroxine

Have I understood correctly? (Polite) stand-off with ultrasound doctor.
Hello everyone I’m just back from an ultrasound on my thyroid where the dr conducting the procedure declared my thyroid “boringly normal “. She also added that my larynx was “beautiful “. She then stated that I “do not have a thyroid condition “. I respectfully disagreed but she persisted: “

Recently diagnosed under active thyroid - Hashimoto's, bit confusing!
So pleased to have found this forum! I had a routine blood test followed by a call from the GP asking me questions about how i was feeling. I get tired easily but put all symptoms like that down to getting older and haven't really any other symptoms. I had glandular fever age 18 and since then have

’Perfect’ bloods but gaining weight and feeling rubbish
Hello lovely people I think my thyroid meds have stopped working. I have been steadily gaining weight (6kg in 6 months, which is more than 10% of my weight!!) and am feeling tired, frustrated, tearful and don’t enjoy my life (which is really good). I am always hungry but monitor calories and don’

NDT+supplements?
Finally after many years of suspecting I am hypothyroid, I have found a doctor to prescribe me NDT-30 mgs morning & afternoon. I take many meds & supplements at every meal & bedtime, but from investigating I am most concerned by magnesium-which I take after breakfast/lunch/dinner- and calcium after

Today's Rabbit Hole has ended in ThyForlife - a new(ish) thyroid health tracking app
I was looking into apps and bluetooth enabled digital thermometers on another post. As I went further I came across this app ThyForlife, developed by a Canadian Thyroid Cancer survivor. It is still an ongoing and developing project. It sets out to enable the user to track a variety of thyroid-related

How To Adjust NDT Doses With Clocks Changing For BST?
How do you adjust your NDT doses when the clocks change to BST? Do you just change the dosing times in one go to the new 1 hour time shift? I stupidly thought the clocks went forwards last night. So I got up and took my NDT an hour earlier this morning at BST 😣. I plan on taking my second dose back

underactive thyroid
hi there I’ve had an under active thyroid for 8 years and recently gained weight and losing iron. My doctor has said my neck thyroid reading is ok but my “brain reading is slower” Does this make sense to anyone? Also, how do people take iron and vitamin d as I have read not to take it near medication
