My rheumy visit today + METOJECT
I am happy with the outcome of my visit to my rheumy today. Unaccompanied due to Covid restrictions so my translator had to stay in the car. New X-rays show deterioration in my right index finger and arthritis in my feet and my left ankle. She calls my 10mg dose small! I am happy with that.

Potential Potency of Methotrexate taken by Metoject.
I am taking 7.5mg of methotrexate by
Metoject
, the nurse who instructed me advised that this method could increase the potency significantly as it goes straight into the blood stream rather than being metabolised as tablets are.

Swelling back after knee aspiration
I am on a weekly
Metoject
20mg and 6x 500g Sulfasalazine daily. It tends to be my knees that are particularly affected and over the last 10 days, the swelling in my right knee became enormous - so painful.

Outcome of Telephone Appointment with Rheumy Nurse re Methotrexate
My queries were about my weekly MTX injection, I told her there is now a warning sticker on the
Metoject
Pen, which Mrs Nails had drawn my attention to. It advises patients to report various symptoms and to avoid excessive caffeine consumption, which I thought was a bit disturbing.

Bunions! 🦶🏻🦶🏻
I have Sulfasalazine, mtx (
Metoject
) and Tocilizumab, as my main RA meds. My worry is that my Tocilizumab might stop working if I have a break, as one of my other meds did when I had to have a break from it. I have been told that Tocilizumab is my last biologic as I have had 6!!

Low dose steroids
I’ve now moved to a urine antiseptic (Hiprex), instead of antibiotics to at least let me take my
metoject
jabs again but I’m still on pred.

Covid Vaccine - Spring Booster 🌹
🌝A quick update: I am due my spring covid vaccine on Monday, and was thinking about whether to stop my Mtx injections (
Metoject
) as I always do have this dilemma...and I came across this article: https://evidence.nihr.ac.uk/alert/a-short-pause-methotrexate-treatment-boosted-immune-response-covid

Metoject

Unbearable itch!
I have RA and take 25mg
Metoject
weekly plus I've also been diagnosed with fibromyalgia a couple of months ago. I get regular blood tests done. If I don't carefully pace myself I can end up stuck in bed for days at a time due to bone crushing fatigue.

I read a suggestion to put
metoject
in the fridge for the next few days so thought I would pass it on. Stay cool and well everyone!

Update on f2f (being called to the headmasters room) :)
After the appointment I could have kicked myself for not standing my ground on how bad
metoject
makes me feel.

Due to gastric problems taking oral MTX have been changed to injections using
Metoject
pen. Rheumy doctor said it was easy to use and no need for nurse to show me how to use it.

5th Covid Vaccine - done and dusted 🤜💥🤛
Anyhoo, apart from a slight ache in my upper arm, when I lift it, all seems absolutely fine 🙂 BTW, I took along my most recent GP script- showing my meds - which had
Metoject
on it. I also took my empty Tocilizumab box to show I have that.
