So frustrated
I'm happy on 20 mcg lio and 50 mcg levo - but each year it's a battle to get the blood tests done. I have problems each year with the GP: generally they say they can only test TSH (which is obv a total waste of time given the lio) so I get the blood form from the endo. Four years ago, the GP did the

T4 over range yet again due to side effect of Amiodarone. I have no thyroid, am on 25mcg levo daily now. In a dilemma
Hi all I am aware that most people on this site will have little knowledge about the drug Amiodarone so here is a brief account of what it is used for and it's potential side effects that can alter conversion of thyroid medication such as levo or NDT so pushing levels either up or down. It can also effect

HRT and thyroxine
Morning all, I have been stable on 175ugs of levo for about two years now and I also take HRT. In a couple of months I will be having a THR and have to stop HRT for four weeks. Does anyone know if this will affect how much levo I may need. I know you aren't medical but it would give me an idea as to

Asking about thyroid levels
I hope that people on this wonderful forum can help out. My question is: after being on the correct dose of levo, how long can levels of t4 and t3 continue to rise for ?

Levothyroxine Brands Experiences
Dear all, As always, I hope my post finds you as well as can be in your thyroid health journeys. As I am learning, it is incredibly tough to navigate. Today I just wished to ask about sensitivities towards certain brands of Levothyroxine which symptoms gave rise for your suspicion? Eg. Rash? Swelling

Feeling relieved
After never feeling great since before starting on levothyroxine, I had a endo apt yesterday. I feel really confident moving forward. She has prescribed liothyronine, going on my private tests, and ordered blood tests, including one for my adrenal levels I believe. She even asked if I'd taken my

Increase levothyroxine or add liothyronine
Results on 75 levothyroxine TSH 0.84(0.4-3.7) Ft3 3.6 (3.5-6.5)Ft4 14 (12-22) Would you increase levo to 87,5 or add 5 mcg liothyronine? Which would make most difference to TSH do you think 5 mcg T3 or 12.5 T4?

GP reducing Levo dose based on blood tests only. Need evidence/papers to show under dosing is potentially harmful too
Update March 2024: I finally saw a Prof of Endocrinology in December 2023 , who determined I did need Liothyronine. A shared care agreement was arranged with my GP and finally last week I started on a trial of Liothyronine. Thank you to everybody who responded and all information supplied. Knowledge

non-acid GORD
does anyone else experience non-acid reflux? I was diagnosed with GORD a year ago and was prescribed a high dose of omreprazole. Managed to wean myself off as soon as I could (aware that it doesn’t work well with levothyroxine - I take 75mg daily). I recently restarted omreprazole as I had heartburn

What should I do now?
My latest thyroid test shows an improvement on my GP test (no t3) in July. Since July I’ve been using metavive I at 3 per day and for the past 6/7 weeks I switched to levo 50mcg and T3 3 moving up to 9mcg which I’ve since dropped back to 6 as I felt really unwell on 9. I’ve tried raising my levo but
