My name is David (70 yrs.old) and I live in the UK and was diagnosed with Parkinsons almost 7 years ago. I was taking 24mg of Ropinerole which eventually caused mental fatigue and this has now been reduced to 4mg and am also taking 100/25 Madopar which has improved my mental state but I feel less mobile. Has anyone experienced similar issues?

David

I'm on 12 mg Ropinerole day in divided dose. One afternoon I forgot my 4 mg dose. I felt so good I didn't take it the next day either. By 4 days On the lower dose I could barely walk! I improved again once I took the meds.

I don't know how quickly you reduced but it may be that you need to take a higher dose for longer and wean yourself off more slowly.

Yes I do David, diagnosed 2008, now taking Ropinerole, Selegiline X1,, Stelevo x4 and norpress 10mg to sleep. Have you had assistance from the PD nurse? Also there can be withdrawal symptoms coming off Ropinerole, PUK has information on their web site. ( dopamine agonist withdrawal syndrome DAWS)..

It is better to be slightly under than over medicated I believe.

Hi David , If you would like more info ( the real deal) on the science of how to help yourself you should read Harvard Medical School, BWH Department of Medicine,BWH Division of Genetics have say about this. Glutathione: The Mother of All Antioxidants, In treating chronically ill patients with Functional Medicine for more than 10 years, I have discovered that glutathione deficiency is found in nearly all very ill patients. These include people with chronic fatigue syndrome, heart disease, cancer, chronic infections, autoimmune disease, diabetes, autism, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, arthritis, asthma, kidney problems, liver disease and more.

Here is your problem , you will have to research , this mean you must go outside the BS that the net give you. So when you are ready for the real facts and what to do your research, let me know I will then and only then send you the email sites that will help you start your learning.

(Apoptosis means if cells are no longer needed, they commit suicide by activating an intracellular death program. This process is therefore called programmed cell death.)

Glutathione redox state regulates mitochondrial reactive oxygen production.

Mitochondria have been described as "the powerhouse of the cell" because they generate most of the cell's ... source of chemical energy.
