Surgical Follow Up Appointment Tomorrow
My post
lobectomy
follow up appointment with the Thoracic team is tomorrow. I'm not sure what the process is at my local hospital. Does anybody know the standard process? Do they send you for an updated x-ray or scan?

One year on!
(Previously mis-diagnosed with cancer in 2008 and had unnecessary bi-
lobectomy
to my right lung and chest wall reconstruction, losing 2/3 of right lung and 2 ribs!). I was on holiday alone and rang to hear I had lesion in the same lung and was being referred as cancer suspected!

Has anybody else had problems with removal of stitches following lobectomy
Hi everybody. Hope everybody is managing to find some time to relax and enjoy the good weather this weekend. A little sunshine is almost always cheering. I attended my GP surgery on Friday to have stitches removed. One of the wounds is left with paper/dissolving stitches which day 13 don't appear

Surgery scheduled
The plan is for VAT surgery, right upper
lobectomy
to remove the nodule with adenocarcinoma and mediastinal lymph node dissection. And now we wait... Any recommendations for this prep time? Thank you.

Lobectomy in3 days
I’m to get a right lobe
Lobectomy
and I’m quite scared. It’s to be a vats procedure but this is my 3rd surgery since February. Has anyone been through this procedure. What are the complications after surgery I need to know about. Any suggestions welcome.

Recurrence generic testing
I was wondering why after right middle lung
lobectomy
for early stage adenocarcinoma they did not do genetic testing? Seems it would be better to know what paths to take if it recurs. Wouldn’t it be better to know before and not have to wait for these results then? Should I feel short changed?

Back pains
I had a lower left lung
lobectomy
11 weeks ago with no real complication. I have now started chemo and had my first cycle 2 weeks ago. All was ok with that apart from feeling tired and fatigued.

Post op complications
Hi, it's been 7 weeks since I had a left upper
lobectomy
. After operation I felt fine, managed to get out and about, still some pain but manageable. Then 2 weeks ago I was readmitted with fluid on my lung and infection somewhere. In for a week with IV antibiotics then oral antibiotics.

Squamous Cell Stage II B Lung Cancer- Be Your Own Advocate
It was Stage IIB and they wanted to operate with a left side
lobectomy
with curative intent. I consented, even though because of the type of cancer and it's location ie. directly adjacent to the pleura I might also need removal of the pleura and two ribs with a chest reconstruction.

Colon Cancer Warning
Hi everyone. I wanted to give a quick reminder on the importance of getting your scheduled check ups and colonoscopies after your bowel diseases go into remission. My 65 year old father had a deadly bout with ulcerative colitis 30 years ago. He beat it and has been the picture of health for the most

Good news - stage IIIb NSCLC Adeno
I then amazingly became eligible for surgery and had a right upper
lobectomy
in summer 2015. My scans were then all clear until November 2017 when a malignant node was found in my neck. I had a complete neck dissection followed by radiotherapy to the area.

Thyroid surgery
My endocrinologist has just recommended I get a
lobectomy
. I have one benign module and one module that has been identified as suspicious by genetic testing so he says there is a 50% chance that I have thyroid cancer. I am not interested in having surgery if I do not have to!

Pain following Lobectomy
Hi, I have recently had a left upper
lobectomy
. I just wanted to know how long I will have the pain. Painkillers keep pain at bay most of the time, but at night I get really sore. Also I have low blood pressure, which is making me really lightheaded and dizzy, is this usual. Thanks.

New 6 mm nodule at 27 months post LLL lobectomy
This one is a solid noncalcified nodule in the upper right lobe along with a new borderline subcarinal adenopathy. This info comes from the radiologist report. I meet with my oncologist in two weeks. My internet research leads me to fear that it could be a regional metastasis from the adenocarcinoma

NSCLC operated in March, starting chemotherapy on Monday
I had a 5 cm adenocarcinoma removed from my lung during an upper right
lobectomy
this March and have recovered well physically. My tumour was discovered 31/01/2019. It is apparently stage 2a and has not spread detectably. I am 42 years old and a mother to two young sons at 2 and 4 years old.
