Updated Consensus on Liothyronine
The British Thyroid Association and the Society for Endocrinology have published their latest consensus statement on the use of
liothyronine
. The thyroid groups are now working on a feedback document because we have concerns about the impact on thyroid patients of some parts of the guidance.

Hypothyroid, Liothyronine and vitiligo.
I'm still under the local Endocrine consultant, finding the right dose of
liothyronine
. My last amendment saw my dose decreased from 60 mcg daily to 50.. 20 mcg morning and evening, 10 mcg at midday.

Liothyronine medication shortage?
My usual brand Sigma Pharma is out of stock with the pharmacies suppliers, so they have sent me compound version for my prescription instead. They always send me 5mg but I am on a 7.5mg dose (in combination with 125mcg of levo) This compound substitution was approved by my current endocrinologist.

Taken off NDT
She has been given
Liothyronine
but is not well on it, and told her 'levels' are fine. She wants to look into getting a private prescription, but from my research into this years ago, I seem to recall it was an extremely expensive route to go down.

The case against Advanz Pharma
Thyroid UK is disappointed that the fines have been reduced as these companies have caused untold damage to all patients who need
liothyronine
because of the price hikes.

Private prescription for Liothyronine
I have a private prescription for 5mcg
Liothyronine
28 tablets X2 which Smartway pharmacy are charging £240. Does anyone know if it is possible to get it any cheaper? I have to take 5mcg twice a day and £240 a month is too expensive for me. Any help is much appreciated. Amanda

Liothyronine brands available via the NHS
I'm taking 40mcg of
Liothyronine
spread across the day in 4 doses, with 112mcg of levothyroxine in the morning. This regimen was working really well for me when taking Thybon Henning
liothyronine

Big Pharma pays the price, but some thyroid patients are still paying
So good to see thyroid and
liothyronine
covered in this informative article. Not so much for those of us who have seen it every step of they way - but for everyone else.

Can't find proper thyroid medication
At the moment I am taking 75mcg euthyrox and 7.5 mcg
liothyronine
and I'm 10 weeks pregnant. I know now is not the time to mess with my thyroid medication but I can't help but wonder if anyone else has experienced this and if they found something that worked for them! Any input is welcome!

Frustrated - Levothyroxine/Liothyronine
My endocrinologist wants me to decrease my
liothyronine
from 20cg to 5!? On my last results she said it showed I had no thyroid in my system so she increased my levothyroxine to .112mg. I’ve been on it for about 4 or so years.

The ignorance continues...
Standing in the chemist, waiting and waiting for a prescription that had gone missing, I asked the Pharmacist (who looked about 14), who was just standing around, whether they dispense many prescriptions for
Liothyronine
. "No, thats old fashioned and does not work.

Sofas Classed as Hazardous Due to Thyroid Disruptors
We struggle to get a prescription for 10 µg
liothyronine
but anyone could buy a sofa (or armchair) with many kilograms of equally potent T3 disruptors which are ingested by dermal contact or inhalation. In cats PBDEs cause hyperthyroidism https://factor.niehs.nih.gov/2019/9/papers/dert .

Blood test results - Change in medication after 30 years okay!
I was on 100mcg Levothyroxine and 10mcg
Liothyronine
for 30 years but when I moved from Guernsey to UK the GP said they could not prescribe
Liothyronine
which I knew could be a problem.
