Excessive Thirst and Leflunomide
Hi everyone Has anyone had problems with being extremely thirsty when on
Leflunomide
? I have been struggling with this for a while now and although I have T2 diabetes, it’s well controlled. The other day I wondered if it was due to the two DMARDS I’m on and it mentioned
Leflunomide

Pain-paralysis-neuropathy!?!?
I am on
Leflunomide
. Normally I’m fine. The last month I have had inflammation in my eyes, my wrists have been weak. Prednisone daily has made it tolerable. Last night I woke up with my left hand totally numb and on fire. So painful. I’m not sure what is going on. …anyone have this happen?

Leflunomide
I saw my rheumatologist today and he has prescribed me
Leflunomide
to take with prednisone. I have been on a really slow taper since last July but have been up and down …currently on 4 mgs and struggling especially in the morning with all over pain and stiffness.

Leflunomide update
I’m one week into 10mg LEF and thought I’d just let you know I’m feeling fine with it. No nasty side effects and blood pressure “optimal” (thanks for all the recommendations for a monitor). I know it’s still early days but I was scared of taking the drug. And I’ve only had two carefully measured gins

Leflunomide - be alert!
The neurologist says this is probable toxic neuropathy secondary to
Leflunomide
(based on correlation between the onset of the problem and the time of introduction of
Leflunomide
).I am posting this to alert others to the possibility of this apparently very rare outcome should they experience tingling

GCA and prednisolone reduction while taking Leflunomide
GCA diagnosed last December (PMR previously diagnosed 2020). 60mg pred for a few days then reduced to 40mg and then reductions down to 25mg by the end of January when I started 10mg
Leflunomide
. After a month LEF increased to 20mg.

Does anyone have any experience with
Leflunomide
as a steroid sparing drug as my rheumy wants me to try this after refusing methotrexate. She wants me off pred even though I am managing on a low dose of 4 1/2 so she wants to introduce
leflunomide
as a steroid sparer.

Leflunomide and surgery..
I have researched myself and it does seem there is a marginal increase in wound healing specifically with
leflunomide
over other DMARDs.

Reducing Pred with additional medication
I spoke to my very nice sensible rheumy this morning who suggested the possibility of adding another medication - Methotrexate,
Leflunomide
or Tocilizumab (Actemra) which I was told is only offered for 1 year and 50% of patients relapse once discontinued.

Leflunomide, Mycophenolate, Azathioprine instead of TCZ, that was the question
It seems
Leflunomide
is the only real contender. So much so that my cynical self wonders if the other two are only there to give the illusion of choice! Any more info about your experience of
Leflunomide
is very welcome.

Supposed inflammatory arthritis and fear of drug interaction with Apixzban , Digoxin and Losartan .
Now I am told I will be put on
Leflunomide
. I am very worried , of course I have looked it up , the side effects seem to be cardiac . I have to prioritise heart over bones. Also, it sounds petty but , alcohol is banned.
