Vitality Health Insurance - good Endo recommendation please
Please can anyone recommend an Endo, covered by Vitality health insurance, that has helped you with T3, NDT, thinking outside the box, etc etc? Ideally based in the southeast (I am in London) but I would be happy to travel to the right doctor. I have the Thyroid UK list of amenable doctors, but they

Advice on NDT
Hello all! Im currently on 150mcg levo a day. I've just seen my private Endo who has prescribed NDT. His advice is to drop levo to 75mcg and take 1 X 30mg ERFA tablet a day as well. Does that sound reasonable? I have 100 tablets, plenty of levo, and another appointment in 3 months so I have some

NDT Only ? (success or not?)
My FT3 is consistently at 65-70% thru range with TSH 0.4 to 1.5. NOTE: I feel pretty good on NDT only... apart from weeks of diarrhea ... probably due to a quicker metabolism or taking NDT on its own. In a quest to reach perfection (target FT4 at 50%) ... as FT4 is consistently 0% to 11% ... i've

Should I take adrenal support? - Hashimotos.
After a couple of years of being on thyroid medication (T4 then NDT then T4+T3) and it seemingly doing nothing, I began to dig deeper. After reading ''Stop The Thyroid Madness'' I started looking into my adrenals as the book states that adrenal issues will stop thyroid meds getting to your cells. A cortisol

What next: should I reduce Levo and increase T3?
Hi all, I finally managed to get a thyroid blood test via NHS endo, follow up appointment, to discuss results and any potential med changes is in March 22. Spoke with endo nurse, she claims that my results are fine. But are they? Endo thinks the results are based on my dosage of levo being 75mcg levo

Private Doctors Prescribing NDT
Good evening, I used to get Thyroid S from Thailand, but they seem to have disappeared now. Could anyone be kind enough to private message me a doctor or list of doctors willing to prescribe NDT? I have found a pharmacy that can fulfil the script but just no doctor to prescribe. Many Thanks!

T4 Depletion, what's going on?
Hi All, I would like to understand why, in a variety of circumstances, FT4 depletes during thyroid therapy. In my own case, my FT4 and FT3 both fell over 3 years on the same dose of NDT. In other cases that I have read about here, FT4 depleted on the same dose of T4 when the dose of T3 was increased

Lost and frustrated
Hi All, would appreciate some guidance! I’m presently transitioning from Levo 0.112 + Cytomel 5mcg, to NDT. My endo seem to be confused/ uneducated in regards to how to proceed, so I have been tweaking my dose as necessary. He was reluctant to make the change, stating that it’s difficult to adjust doses

Dosing with cytomel only
After years of trials with levo and ndt for hypothyrodism, I switched to cytomel (lio) only. Current dosage is 62.5 mcg, and I am now controlling my BP with 1/2 my former BP meds (Indapamide 2.5 and Telmisartan 80). All drugs are taken at 6AM. The hope is that patience and titration of the lio will allow

Which Cortisol Test ?
Hi there I’m hashimotos on NDT and currently under a private thyroid doc from the thyroid UK list who has asked for a 4 x Saliva test and sent the blue horizons link. I’ve read in some posts that those tests aren’t possibly the best route to take. Are recommendations allowed for which other ones are

Private Endo who will prescribe T3 &/or NDT? I’m in Lancashire but will travel
Hello, I’m looking for recommendations for a private Endocrinologist who will listen to me and is willing and able to trial different treatments other than synthetic T4. I am particularly interested in T3 and NDT. Ability to recommend supplements to assist recovery and find optimum health a bonus. I

Alternative thyroid medication or anti anxiety medication?!
Further to my last post, I’m still at a bit of a loss. My endocrinologist says that my thyroid situation is as good as it’s going to get and has referred me to a neurologist (on account of feeling like I’m walking on a boat, dizzy, light headed etc) and a haematologist (on account of low ferritin). I

NDT help and advice desperately needed, please?
Hi everybody! I am new to the forum. I was diagnosed hypothyroid, 3 years ago and levothyroxine has not cleared my symptoms and I actually now have more symptoms since going on it. My results when I was first diagnosed August 2018 were; TSH = 14.53 mIU/L Free T4 = 13 pmol/L Free T3 = 4.1 pmol/L

NDT Change Over HELP!
I imagine a lot of people will be in the same boat if they have been on Nature-Throid. I need to change to a different brand (due to it being still discontinued) and very concerned about how this will effect me as I seem to be extremely sensitive to any changes in medications. I am thinking of purchasing

Gastro/ Possible IBS linked to Levothyroxine
Hello, I have been trying Levothyroxine since March as I used to take NDT. I have had real tummy upset like IBS and it seems to be linked to Levo. I had gastro issues last year after having Covid that never fully cleared up but it seems the Levo exacerbated this. I will try switching brands from Teva

How much thyroid hormone do you take?
I'm curious to know how much T4/T3 other members take to feel well. I know it takes time to work up to the right dosage for you. Over the past 10 months, I've very slowly titrated up from 1/8 grain to 1/2 grain of NDT (NP Thyroid). I felt really good for a few months but now feel pretty awful, and I

Hi, Can anybody tell me any other sources of medication for Adrenal Fatigue?" - My Cortisol and ACTH were very low. Are there any other medications; apart from Adrenavive 11 that would support my Adrenal glands? I do have underactive Thyroid- I take NDT (Natural Desiccated Thyroid ) - readings are
