ANYONE ON JUST KEVZARA

I was wondering if any of you are now just on Kvezara having tapered off of prednisone or prednisolone? I am nearing the last taper off prednisone and would love to know what to expect with this next step. Thanks for any input.

I doubt there will be many here - it is only used in the USA and although there are several members in the USA, there will be relatively few on Kezara and at that stage yet. I hope there is someone though.

Hi. I am on fortnightly injections of Kevzara (Sarilumab). I have large vessel vasculitis. I also take Mycophenolate Mofetil. I have been unable to get off Prednisolone though so can’t be of help to you. Last time I got to 5.5mg I had scalp symptoms so went up to 15mg and at the moment am on 6mg. I have been on Kevzara for 9 months. I was diagnosed with PMR in Oct 2021 and finally tapered to 0 in December of 2023. I had a major flare/reoccurrence in February 2024.

I was put back on Prednisone and about a month or 2 later added Kevzara. I tapered completely off Prednisone and have been on Kevzara injections twice a month since April 2024 I’ve experienced no side effects that I’m aware of from Kevzara and have relief from PMR symptoms. I believe my PMR is still present because about the last couple of days before my next injection is due I start getting some breakthrough mild symptoms of PMR
