Jevtana

I started my chemo treatment with Jevtana (Cabazitaxel) after Taxotere was not able to contain the lymph nodes tumor growth around my bladder or lower my PSA and I was wondering if other guys have gone this route and what were the results. I have already gone through Xtandi, Zytiga etc....

I have been pretty good with few problems until now, after fifteen rounds of chemotherapy (taxotere and jevtana) plus ADT/HT , been fighting since Sept.2011 had robot prostatectomy no problems with incontinence , Gleason was 4+3 psa was 4.7 , now I am 59yr old and my psa is now 11.4 and rising, I now

I began Taxotere (6) and now I'm on Cabazataxel (Jevtana). Thanks for your help.

chemo med Jevtana / cabazitaxel , had terrible time, constipated (failed to take enough laxative) Blood in Urine problem, etc.... palliative said he could give me a pill (remeron) anti depressant, for nausea /stomach ache , that should make me want to eat.

Taking Jevtana and Carboplat with 21 days between treatments. I have had one treatment 7 days ago. I am weak and exhausted. No appetite. Is anyone on this treatment? Will the symptoms improve before I take the next round of chemo?

Well I am on Chemo round #11, after nine rounds on taxoteere , I was switched over to Jevtana, and my PSA went down from 24 to 3.6 after the first dose, now slight trend upward to 3.8 and I just took my second round of Jevtana, feeling a little sick but it will pass in four days and I will feel better

After 2 years and 4 months and after doing: 8 months Zytica. 10 sessions Chemotherapy Taxodare. 15 sessions JEVTANA. my doctor want me to go into XTANDI 4 tablets 40mg a day. 1 injection Decapeptyl 11.25mg every 3 months. 1 injection Prolia every 3 months.

Three years on chemo, first Docetaxel then to Jevtana . Now back to Docetaxel on a weekly cycle. Found some info on hyperthermic treatments to make the chemo active on the tumor sites ie. hot tub or sauna after chemo to get more blood flowing. Any comments?

My question is since JEVTANA is and I was told the most effective why am I at stand still.

I am on my second cycle now with Jevtana / Cabazitaxel, I take a dose every three weeks my PSA has just gone down from 21 to 6, so Jevtana is working, I hope it works a long time I only got about seven months of play out of Taxotere , my Onc, says this in the last chemo drug we have to try then it is

Ok, my Chemo drug #1 Taxotere has stopped be effective and I am now sick all the time even between cycles so we thought it best to switch to chemo drug #2 Cabazitaxel / Jevtana I just took my first dose two hours ago, we will see what happens, this is my 8th cycle of chemo, I had a 6mos run with Taxotere

After 4 rounds of Jevtana, cancer swiftly invaded liver (numerous tumors throughout) and bone marrow. Platelets and H and H dipped dangerously low and Ex developed a subdural hematoma.

I've read some posts here on it as well as others but feel this is my best option after checking relevant trials & chemo (Jevtana) as alternatives. Will remain on quarterly Lupron and will need to see if Oncolgist wants me to stay on XGeva quarterly.

He reluctantly decided on Jevtana and external beam radiation even though he had a difficult time with docetaxel. Anyone have more side effects with cabazitaxel than with docetaxel? We are not that thrilled with Jevtana as his PSA only climbed and bone mets got worse while on docetaxel.

Anyone on Jevtana? Does it make a difference if you use it with prednisone??? I don't want to use a steroid. Also, I would rather not use more than one drug at a time so I can see what is working, but my doctor insists.

In yesterday's thread on "Jevtana and Prednisone", no mention was made of the potential effect of prednisone on the cancer. In fact, Eric wrote that: "prednisone in itself does nothing to stop or slow the cancer".

I have been feeling very fatigued lately and I had to stop my Jevtana chemo at this moment (2 months) because of neutropenic fever which landed me in the hospital for over 12 days. 

Next may be Jevtana or Olaparib.

CY 12 he began more chemotherapy (Jevtana) followed 24 hours later by an injection of Neulasta and an injection of Procrit when his hemoglobin count has been too low. Megestrol Oral suspension (40mg) has been prescribed for lack of appetite and has been effective.
