Thank you all for replying to my post re Eklira Genuair
I think I'll stick to the nebulised
ipratropium
which does help. I read somewhere (probably on here), that some paramedics, as part of their training did a cross-country run, then ran up and down flights of stairs and then had to breathe through a straw.

Flecainide and beta-agonists
I currently use an Ipvent (
Ipratropium
Bromide) inhaler. I use this rather than a beta agonist (e.g. salbutamol) because beta agonists have been associated with a-fib. Ipvent is weaker but longer lasting than salbutamol. I find the ipvent is not strong enough now that i am on flecainide.

Worst things people have said/what not to say to someone with a lung condition

Alcohol during asthma exacerbations
I can't see any drug interactions with alcohol/Prednisolone/salbutamol/
ipratropium
but was debating with my family it's other effects on the body eg on immune system & was wondering what other's experience was? Thanks for sharing!

Progression or What?
No anaemia, take D3, nebulised
ipratropium
and salbutamol 4 times daily and other meds. Not much appetite but try to eat as well as poss and continue exercises (getting a bit difficult). I'm at a loss and so I think are the doctors at the practice.

Asthma Attack 'n' Back (to A&E)
They put me on an oxygen-propelled nebuliser of Salbutamol and
Ipratropium
which helped a bit. They gave me prednisolone.

Any Answers To My Problem?
Something else which it affects is my nebuliser...nothing is added to that apart from the medication...salbutamol and
ipratropium
bromide...I've noticed lime scale building up around the tubing where it enters the machine...

In my case
Ipratropium
. I'm not too sure about it and I would be so grateful if anyone has any feedback. I think it was only licensed for use in England this year. I don't think the license was granted in Scotland.

Possibly extra things to try...?
I've sometimes had
ipratropium
nebs in hospital, and I met someone in hospital with asthma similar to mine who uses adrenaline nebs and finds them really useful. My GP and I also mentioned maybe using more saline nebs to help with the copious quantities of phlegm!

LABA and LAAs Update to research
Researchers published evidence on the widely prescribed anticholinergics
ipratropium
bromide and tiotropium bromide (marketed as Atrovent and Spiriva), and found they were associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular death, heart attack and stroke among COPD patients.

Is anyone else suffering from an increase of illnesses since having Viral Meningitis or Viral Meningio-Encephalitis?
I also take when needed: Nystan (for Oral Thrush) and
Ipratropium
(asthma inhaler) I feel tired and washed out most days. My energy levels are very limited. I have to pace myself for any social or family events. I’ve put on weight (9lbs); my skin is thin and dry, and my hair seems lank.

Breathing Techniques Explained
Ipratropium
blocks the muscarinic receptors in the lungs and therefore stops the action of acetylcholine on them. This allows the muscle around the airways to relax and the airways to open. This makes it easier for people with asthma or COPD to breathe.

Lung Volume Reduction using Pulmonary Valves. My experiences as a patient.
Pleased that I was using nebulised Atrovent (
Ipratropium
Bromide) instead of Spiriva (Tiotropium Bromide), because of cost and effectiveness. Recommended weaning off Prednisolone asap down to bare maintenance level.
