The joy of being listened to
I had 2 very bad experiences following 2 injections. After the first bad experience, I don't think I managed to explain very well what the problem had been - pain, grittiness, unable to keep my eye open, extreme soreness and stinging for 24 hours - or the medic I spoke to didn't ask the right questions

Hi everyone. It's been a while since I posted last. Alot has went on so I'll recap quickly: - Positive Ana, Ena, C reactive protein, Ro and elevated platelets in Dec 16. Referral to Rheumatology. 33 weeks wait until appointment. - Overactive thyroid discovered in June 17 when I got viral meningitis.

Utterly confused!
Hi! I've been on levo since April 2016 after radio-active iodine treatment. I've been feeling terrible just lately and was sure that I'd gone under-active again and needed to increase my dose. I was weepy, joints aching, my nails are dry and feeling really tired all the time. (Though in fairness,

Starting to give up!
Hello I am trying to find answers to my chronic health problems since beginning of August 2017. I will try to make this as short as possible. I was diagnosed with Graves 2003, had RAI in 2009 went hypo straight away then onto Levo now at 75mcg. Although I have never felt my normal healthy self since

GP cautioned me about Thyroid UK credability
I presented some insights/research in letter form to my GP to aid further engagement & education about by my ongoing Thyca with view to seeking their clinical POV. As they all have limited experience & knowledge in dealing with Thyca. Content included info. about T3, letter from Dr Lindner, D102 gene

Overactive Thyroid
Hi I've been diagnosed for the past 3 years or so. I have Graves' disease and TED.... I was due to have RAI next Tuesday but my Endo said my bloods indicated that I might be cured and so has postponed the procedure to monitor me until next Jan. So I have stopped my daily dosage of 5mg of Carbimozole

Doctor prescribed me iodine, but far less than recommended
I just had a chat with the rogue doctor, they suspect mitochondrial issues. In the mean time while I get my amino acids tested I am advised to take iodine, but less than I did before (150-350 mcg), they recommended as little as 50 mcg at first for long term to see what happens. I am also getting tested
