Bladder & Urethra Issue
RP 2007 and EBRT 2009. I've had intermittent hematuria for many years and on 3 occasions blood clots have caused obstruction and inability to urinate. I've learned to self catheterize in these situations which has usually resolved the issue after a few days. This time it's more severe. Heavy bleeding

How to get bladder to hold urine again? Bladder training?
Looking for guidance from others who have had to regain bladder function. I had a bad case of Radiation Cystitis along with hemorrhagic bleeding that sent me to the hospital multiple times for blocked urine flow due to clots, the last time being end of Jan 2023. After 20 sessions of hyperbaric oxygen

Neurogenic bladder help!
Hi everyone! Male, looking for some advice on my bladder issues. I've been diagnosed 14 years ago and the last few years my bladder issues have been getting worse. I was on Tadalafil, Alfuzosin and Sildosin. I'm retaining 600CCs before I go and my urologist suggested intermittent catheterization. I've

Angiogram and Right Cath.
I was in hospital last week for tests to see if I could have a Triclip procedure or open heart as I have severe triscuspid regurgitation. My cardiologist had referred me for these tests and said once they were done, the team of dr’s would discuss the results and give an opinion. I had an angiogram,

MSA affected by Covid
My husband who is 5 years into this dreadful condition is currently in hospital due to COVID affecting his unstable blood pressure. Yesterday was such an awful day, my husband had several low blood pressure episodes, at one point his pressure was 43/31. He was fine when lying down but as soon as he tried

Has anyone had cardiac catheterization or heart surgery with GCA or PMR?
Hi everyone, in my last post I told you I was about to have an echocardiogram where they put a camera down your throat to get better pictures of the heart. That went fine except for very sore throat for about a week. Unfortunately they found multiple problems, all of which have appeared in the last year

TURP for prostate cancer patients
It’s more than 6 months since my last post. My dad took Lu-J591 in last August 2022 and I planned to share his experience if the result’s positive. Unfortunately, his PSA did not reduce and now it is 135. From last April, he had suprapubic catheterization because of urine retention. It makes him easily

Transoesophageal echocardiograms - any experiences?
Hello hearties! Last Wednesday I had a Right Heart Catheterisation to measure the pressures in my heart and lungs, then merrily went off skiing on Saturday (with my consultant's blessing!) hoping to forget about my recently-diagnosed Atrial Septal Defect and looming OHS. The hospital called me while

Can I drive home after an angiogram ?
I will be getting an angiogram next week including cardiac catheterization. The hospital is 50 miles from home with no direct public transport links. If I take my car, would I be fit to drive home afterwards ?

Mitigating fall risk in hospital, after a traumatic brain injury
Hi folks. My dad has a traumatic brain injury 4 weeks ago and is currently in hospital in Scotland. He's in a rehabilitation ward. Unfortunately, he's unable to walk and is unable to retain information in short-term memory. One of the effects is that he keeps trying to get out of bed, then falling

Hi Im new here id love to chat Clean intermittent catheterisation (still in nappies age 5)
My 5-year-old daughter is still in nappies due to uncontrollable leaks and we use clean intermit catheterisation 2-3 hourly. She's just gone into year one at school and is so emotionally unstable due to being so conscious of her differences. A couple of children have realised she wears nappies and

Don't blame it all on the prednisone! Check things out.👩🏻⚕️ or 👨🏻⚕️
I'm writing to add a soft warning to be mindful. I was diagnosed with GCA in 2019 and finally got down to single digits this summer, I'm taking 5 mg per day plus Actemra. I'm only dropping .5 mg every six weeks. It has been fairly smooth except the fatigue, I did nothing and was [i]so, so tired![/

Suddenly Glad....
In my first post to the community, I was wondering if I should get an ablation or not, based on the advice of a somewhat snarky cardiologist. Since then, I have had a second opinion from both a new cardiologist and a new electrophysiologist. BOTH said they saw no reason to rush into this. The cardiologist

Got the Second Opinion
And I am SO glad I did! In a prior post, I had told about events leading up to a cardiologist getting snippy with me because I questioned the need for an ablation. The more research I did the more convinced I became that my gut feeling was right and I set up an appt. with a different doctor. Monday

Nighttime Urination
Does anyione have a good suggestion for a supplement to help me sleep through the night without having to urinate at 5:00 A.M.? I have been using a supplement from Botanic Ckhoice called Pro Advanced Urinary Formula. This was working well but lately has been less effective. I catheterize just before

Retaining so much urine
my husband has been retaining 3 litres of urine for the last 6 days and feeling so nauseous he has to self catheterise , morning noon night, and each time it’s one litre at each go, in between this he’s still going to urinate normal flow every hour, through day and night, to be honest he’s really worried
