Potential adverse effects of long-term venesection used to treat PV.
I got curious after watching the Richard Silver presentation that was recently posted on the forum. Dr. Silver quoted some potential adverse effects from long-term use of venesection (AKA phlebotomy) to manage PV. I had seen those findings previously in the literature. I have also experienced some

Medication choices after hydroxyurea
I've posted before about the challenges associated with HU and my own efforts to keep my sensitive digestive tract happy over the last 2 plus years. Unfortunately, this past week was a bit challenging with every possible bad digestive tract issue presenting itself. I'm on the mend but have to accept

Thank You For PegInterferon Rash Info
Stopping
interferon
will clear it up but that's not going to happen. :) Only concern thus far is not sure about getting another biopsy on shin. The dermatologist started the procedure with a pain shot to numb the area. It was extremely painful.

ET Hydroxy/short break - Update
I did discuss with my Consultant at last telephone call the options of changing medication perhaps to Peg
Interferon
but this Dr. did not mention Peg. However I haven’t pursued the change as I had thought of going back on HU when necessary instead of Peg. as on reading possible side effects of Peg.

Switching to Interferon
I fear the long term side effects of the Hydrea and because if this community I'm no longer scared to try
Interferon
. I have been told from day one that they side effects of
Interferon
are "bad" but after hearing all your stories I think it might actually be a better fit for me.

Autoject for Copaxone discontinued—ARGH!!
Initially, I chose it because it was the only non-
interferon
medication available, which I thought would allow me to live my most normal life because there would be no flu-like symptoms. AND there was an autoject available, which made giving myself a daily shot possible, in fact a no-brainer.

dizzy, ET , aspirin and Peg interferon
Every so often I get bouts of dizziness. Often associated with nasal congestion so. I think it could be ear related. I am on Aspirin and pegasys. I have MPL ET. Could it be ET related ?? Any ideas.

Update on progress with MF and the FEDORA clinical trial
I understand the
interferon
will take up to 6 months to show some noticeable effects on the Jak-2. As an aside my WBC has reduced and my neutrophils need to be above 1 to be able to take the
interferon
so I have now also been prescribed GCF injections (300mcg) to be taken once a week.

Itchy patches
Since jabbing myself with Pegasys
interferon
alfa2a for CALR +ET diagnosis, I've noticed the appearance of several small itchy patches on my abdomen and back. The ones on the abdomen are not on the site of the jab.
