Interferon Injections tummy feels bruised.
Hello I have been on the Interferon Injections for over five months, once a week. I have noticed my tummy has become sore when I push down and feels slightly hard and internally bruised. I was on Clexane Injections and they left my tummy bruised with many large knots. I have been taken off Clexane and

“Interferon” with MPN hematopoietic stem cells
« In this issue of Blood, Rao et al reveal important insights into how hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) subpopulations contribute to myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN) pathogenesis, and how these populations are perturbed in the setting of pegylated-interferon (pegIFN) therapy.1 The advent of pegylated

Pegasys and high levels of liver enzyme or
Hi everyone! I was diagnosed with PV Jak2 back in 2012 and was advised to continue aspirin regimen with Phlebotomys every 3 months as I was not high risk. So, I turned 60 last fall (considered high risk now) and was placed on low dose Pegasys interferon. I've only been on this drug for 2 months and

Opinions about Hydroxyurea, vaccination and pregnancy with ET.
Hi everyone. My name is Kristina and I'm 32 years old diagnosed with ET. I discovered that my platelets were high in 2007, but was diagnosed with ET few years later. First I was put on only Aspirin, then when my platelets were around million I was given Interferon Alfa which I was taking irregularly

Covid antibodies
I was at my hospital for usual bloods pre starting interferon next month. They also tested me for covid antibodies as I had my second jab the week before. Does anyone know what a good value is for the antibodies and is a week to soon for them to have developed fully?

Hydroxicarbamide to interferon
Morning all. I may have to change from HU after 12 years ( suits me fine but is now possibly causing bcc’s ) to interferon. Has anyone else migrated from hydroxicarbamide to interferon and had any reactions? I think it’s a case of sticking with HU and risking having a face like a road map but feeling

Enlarged Spleen
I have post Pv Myelofibrosis and am on Ruxolitinib. My blood counts are good except for a white cell count of 21. However, my “blasts” are at 18%. I am not experiencing any major symptoms except for an enlarged Spleen that currently measures 28 cams, which is large. The Ruxolitinib is not reducing it

Good morning beloved ms family. I hope everybody is as well as can be expected and it continues for "YOU" As we all know I am a HUGE believer in Disease-Modifying Therapy (DMT)), It is strong medicine, there might be side effects. Learn to cope and avoid them. This is a serious long term illness

update after seeing a specialist
Its been awhile so I just wanted to give an update and maybe I can help someone else. I was diagnosed back in September with ET CALR type 1. I was asymptomatic with platelets in the 600's (now 700's) found on a routine blood work up. I saw two local hematologists that I was not comfortable with so

Treatment options, location.
Does anyone have a definitive list of counties in the UK that prescribe peg interferon on the NHS without having to aquire funding. It's a lottery as to whether you can access this drug depending on where you live. Unfortunately I can't access it here in Merseyside, but if I lived down the road in Cheshire

Nanoparticles STING tumors (details at 11..LOL), Radioactive bone cement, New Prostate Cancer test could avoid 1/3rd of unnecessary biopsies
Greetings FPC fans. A new nanoparticle drug can stimulate the body's immune system and make it more effective at fighting off tumors through stimulation of the STING system. STING-stimulator of interferon genes is discussed below-part of the innate immune system.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stimulator_of_interferon_genes

Asthma may heighten flu risk and cause dangerous mutations.
Influenza virus has a high mutation rate, such that within one host different viral variants can emerge. Evidence suggests that influenza virus variants are more prevalent in pregnant and/or obese individuals due to their impaired interferon response. We have recently shown that the non-allergic, paucigranulocytic

Start interferon or "watch and wait"?
First, thank you to all who have reached out to me this last week since I joined the forum. Your kindness has truly helped me come to terms with all this. I have my first meeting with my MPN specialist coming up soon. He will be giving me the results of the genetic testing to see which driver mutation
