Ibrutinib seems to also affect T-cells
First time I have heard of this. Potentially very important for those with solid tumors. http://www.pnas.org/content/early/2015/02/09/1500712112.abstract

It is a small price to pay for the
Ibrutinib
, just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.

Initiation and Discontinuation of Ibrutinib in Chromic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL)
Friends, I found this discussion from OncLive that I just shared on blog: http://bkoffman.blogspot.com between Drs. Bryd, Furman and Kipps full of nuggets and controversy. Not often we get to hear these in such a lively three exchange. Please let me know what you think. Stay strong Brian

The flip side of ibrutinib? Atrial fibrillation/flutter
For me the benefits of being on
ibrutinib
have been huge. Within a couple of months of starting it I had more energy and a feeling of wellbeing than I'd had for two or three years. My brain also seemed to work better.

Cycle 1 of BR compared to FCR, and any advice regarding Port v. PICC line please?
When we arrived at the day unit, the nurse asked if I had ever seen the consultant psychologist at the hospital regarding my anxiety about cannulating and chemotherapy (I’d avoided BR as long as possible, in the hope that
Ibrutinib
might become available).

On my blog, http://bkoffman.blogspot.com , Professor Stilgenbauer reviews how the significance of predictive and prognostic factors may differ in the world of chemo-immunotherapy versus the novel therapies such as

Ibrutinib with afib
Doctor put me on leukeran for about 4 weeks then switched to
ibrutinib
. White cell count dropped from a high of 88,000 to 20,000 but as that was taking place my heart went in to afib and I was short of breath and couldn't fall asleep.

ASCO 2014: Dr. Susan O'Brien Speculates on Combinations with Ibrutinib to Get a Complete Remission in CLL (chronic lymphocytic leukemia)
O'Brien gives some very informed speculation on what combination therapies with
ibrutinib
might be helpful in the future. She is very good at separating out what is known, and what is thought to be, but not yet proven.
