Ibuprofen & Hydroxy
Just had my appendix out and Doctors don't want to give too many pain meds so have told be to take ibuprofen in between doses of percocet (has acetaminophen in it) to stretch them out. I thought there was a reason not to take ibuprofen when on hydroxyurea but not finding any contraindications. Does

New to thrombocytosis..
Hi all. I'm a newly diagnosed thrombocytosis patient just beginning my quest for info. I've had a terrible itch with tiny blisterlike bumps which eventually become tiny craters just about anywhere on my body. After seeking help for 2 years with various doctors, one finally ordered a blood test and here

Is Anyone using Reblozyl (luspatercept) for anemia due to MPN/ Hydroxyurea?
Hi everyone, I've been taking Aranesp injections for 2 years for severe anemia due to myelofibrosis/ET and also side effects of hydroxy. The Aranesp stopped working, and I've been taking luspatercept injections for the last 9 weeks. It has caused systolic BP to increase 30 points, which is quite

ET with no known cause
Hi, this is my first post and pending my bone marrow biopsy and aspiration results I have ET with no mutations. My blood test investigations have shown I have had the condition since at least 2011 however it's persistence was missed by GPs. I have had symptoms for a very long time including stiffness

Hydroxychloroquine & Hydroxyurea for Covid and & ET
I am a teacher with ET, and have been on hydroxyurea (HU) for about 18 months. Feeling pretty good. Will be teaching online for at least a few months, but will eventually be going back into the classroom. Thinking about taking hydroxychloroquine as a preventive measure for catching Covid from students

Curious of Other Peoples Experiences
I do not have Pre-MF, but my husband was recently diagnosed. He is only 51. We had no idea, but he lost a dramatic amount of weight and became quite fatigued. His spleen is at 32cm and causes him a lot of grief. I’m not sure of the grade of BMB, but will definitely ask! I’m trying to research and understand

Hydroxyurea ( Hydrea) and vaccine safety
Hello , I am 60 years old and jak 2 positive PV . I am on aspirin and Hydrea . My doc wants me to take vaccine for swine flu, hepatitis B and pneumococcus - has anyone taken vaccines while on Hydrea ? Is it safe - considering hydrea is essentially tuning down the immune system?

Anyone with ET that has progressed to MF?
My symptoms have seemed to have progressed - more bone pain, night sweats, bloating, nausea, high fatigue and flue like symptoms that come and go during the day. I have been taking two 500 mg of Hydroxyurea a day for the last 18 months. Initially it seemed to help, ok but lately my symptoms seemed

Has anyone else had problems with bringing they're platelet count down? And finding the right treatment and dosage to do this?
Although my haemotoligist has mentioned I may also have to start taking a chemo tablet (
hydroxycarbamide
) along side the injection. Which is quite worrying but not certain yet depending on if the platelets come down enough.

PV or hydroxyurea - increased sensitivity to insect bites?
Hi everyone, I've been feeling increased sensitivity to insect bites and I'm wondering whether it's tied to either PV or Hydroxyurea. Or maybe it's just age. Mosquito bites last for days now and are unbearably itchy, while in the past mosquito bites would pass within a couple of hours. I'd love to
