Response to Sue about severe headaches
The next step up is often drugs that treat your Behcet's inflammation systemically, such as the biologics Enbrel, Remicade,
Humira
, and that whole family of TNF inhibitors. More aggressive treatments would include immunosuppressants and chemo drugs.

Still in limbo..
Finally have an appointment through to see my Rheumy, he has sent me another letter saying still stay off the
Humira
(he knows I have a fridge full of the stuff, probably scared I'll take it anyway). I'm down to just 5mg Prednisolone now and my joints are really starting to play up again.

Enbrel, Humira and latex? Allergy the same as Elastoplast? Is latex in the solutions of Enbrel and Humira or just the needle covers?
I have only just read towards the end of my research that Enbrel and
Humira
contain latex in the needle cover (how is the clicpen affected?) Really disappointed if it is actually in the solution? ... as I do want to Take Enbrel. I do want so much to try Enbrel for my RA which is flaring badly.

Becoming informed about Behcet's
In 2010, I spoke at the Behcet's Patient Conference in London about the dangers of fungal infections for patients taking biologics (anti-TNF a drugs like Enbrel, Remicade,
Humira
, Cimzia, etc.).

Small receptacles for disposal of syringes when travelling/holidaying abroad ?
I have read through my info packs from Enbrel,
Humira
and Simponi whilst making my decision on which to take (think it will be Enbrel) and lots of info there re temperatures and storage but there's one thing that perplexed me in one of my info packs. It said on preparation for holidays ...

Confused.com ENBREL
I fve already failed on
humira
and am due back at the hospital on the 4th of April. If the enbrel is found not to be working then I'm told it will be rituxibab infusions for me!!! Even more daunting toxins in my body. I'm scared stiff to say the least and really confused.

Anemia causing flares?
I am swapping from
Humira
to Remicaide, and when I went to the infusion center for the workup prior to my first treatment, I found out my hemoglobin was 5.1. My b12 was also really low. Now, I am giving myself daily b12 shots, and I am getting iron transfusions by IV weekly.

Cimzia and Orencia
I have been taking
Humira
for more than 5 years and recently had to stop since I was having some weird reactions. It had also seemed to lose its effectiveness the past year or 2. Me and my Dr. decided that I would start Orencia or Cimzia soon and I've been researching both.

Enbrel, Humira or Simponi?
pack for
Humira
, a reasonably big one for Enbrel and a little brochure on Simponi as it is not as established as the other two. Simponi has an advantage of a monthly injection but that won't be a main reason to choose for me. Had bloods done for screening all the usual.

You wait for one appointment and three come along at once...
He explained that the MRI and stopping the
Humira
was to investigate the slight chance the unusual looking nerve in my right eye might be from the
Humira
which can cause nerve demyelisation (MS). He was surprised about the scleritis as
Humira
usually corrects autoimmune eye problems.

Where do I go from here...?
My blood tests have returned results consistently high, despite also having tried other additional treatments, such as sulphasalazine, and
Humira
, (with regular amounts of steroids 'thrown in' for good measure).

Hello hello I'm back again
Got a rubbish cold though after starting back at last on
Humira
(of course) So waiting on THE phone call and will have to go back up soon I suspect. On a brighter note Katy got her PROM dress and I was very pleased with her.

Does anyone else get inflamed one minute and not the next!
I'm on
Humira
and Methotrexate was added in again in September after a less than good experience with a registrar rheumy- felt rail roaded into taking it in tablet form despite being on injections previously for 6 years. ( got that sorted though!)

Opthamologist appointment this morning...
Two and a half hours later I've been told to stop the
Humira
immediately and been referred for an emergency MRI scan of my head. The word 'worrying' was used several times.

Is there a connection between RA and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome?
Hi, I am a 48 year old female with RA, I'm on Methotrexate and
Humira
. I have pain and stiffness mainly in my hands. Just before Christmas I fell and broke my left wrist. I'm out of plaster now, but throughout I have had excessive pain. My wrist is now hot, painful and sensitive.
