Horizant Pros and Cons
My doctor is wanting me to try
Horizant
. Currently I am taking .34mg of Kloponin but the side effects are bad, especially when I don't get much sleep. I seem to be especially sensitive to psychoactive drugs, what some would can a poor metabolizer. I am afraid of any new drug's side effects.

Neurologist for RLS- frustrated
She wants me to take
Horizant
, and balked at giving me low dose a Tramadol because I’m breastfeeding. (Tramadol does not cause issues in breastfeeding, which is why unwanted to try it. EVERY other drug for RLS does.)

I've tried almost everything to get relief for my RLS. What else can I do?
I have taken Lyrica, Duloxetine, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Ropinirole, Gabapentin,
Horizant
, and other drugs prescribed by different physicians. I wonder if these doctors diagnosed my problems correctly? I may have different issues, other than these three.

Dr. Buchfuhrer Visit
He prefers
Horizant
or Lyrica due to the extended release properties. He switched me over to 600 mg
Horizant
and upped the dose to 1200 mg per evening when the 600 mg proved not to get the job done. I am seeing a hematologist to get an iron infusion, as my ferritin levels were at a 90.1 ng/ml.

Trying to drop Neupro and manage RLS without drugs
I tried
Horizant
first but it didn’t help so my neuro put me on Neupro and I do well with it but I’m concerned about augmentation and side effects. I’m going to talk to my neuro about making a change. Has anyone tried Restiffic foot wraps?

Gabapentin dose.
For that reason, I rarely go beyond 900 mg to even 1200 mg
Horizant
was designed to overcome this issue (it is a pro-drug of gabapentin that turns into gabapentin after getting very well absorbed from the gut into the blood).

Horizant for Parkinson's
He is on Rytary now.Today doctor gave my dad samples of
Horizant
. I googled it , and this medicine is used for RLS. I've never heard of this medicine used for Parkinson's. Has anyone tried it for their Parkinson's? Thank you so much.

Any info on RLS and Chronic Kidney Disease?
I eventually was given the
Horizant
brand of gabapentin but unfortunately, that version was also ineffective (which is okay because it was costing $500/month). After 4 weeks of twitching and no sleep, Dr. A-hole finally gave me a script for Oxy, 5mg. but he only gave me 7 tablets.

RLS worse after starting horizon
However, my doctor had me start
Horizant
also to see if it might help. I have only been taking it for about a month now,, but gradually since starting my RLS has been getting worse. Has anyone else had this experience?

I am currently taking
Horizant

Grrr...12+ years of RLS
Have changed pills many times, first rope, then pramipexole, then gabapentine, and now
horizant
. I can’t sleep...take my pills as used, go to bed, and either left or right gets its normal 30sec-a-go-go. Maybe, I can sleep 2-3am for 3/4 hours, but it’s horrible.

Questions about OIC
I have had excellent luck for the past seven months with being on 150mg of Tramadol and 600mg of
horizant
. This combination seems to work very well for me. I have had absolutely no RLS for the past 7 months. Been able to sleep well every night. And sometimes even take a nap.
