Apple Watch
Curious to hear from anyone using an Apple Watch ECG app to monitor afib. On mine I can get a reading saying afib and then immediately measure again and get sinus. I recently started taking Dofetilide, so maybe the medication is helping to resolve afib episodes. Any thoughts on how accurate Apple Watch

Hi lovely people, I promised I’d get back to you after seeing a cardiologist/electrophysiologist privately. As you might guess from the title, this is what he believes will solve my problem. I will still be in persistent Afib, but won’t feel it. In the meantime he has doubled my digoxin dose and I will

BC Update with GP.
First I rang Macmillan and they thought it very odd my cancer had gone from high to low. So rang my consultants secretary and she was not there, the people in charge said they were not qualified to help. I saw my GP today and like myself had a letter with no details at the top, this matters because

Help to interpret ECG
I felt my heart behaving strangely and took an ECG on my Apple watch. The trace was unlike any I have seen before. After 10 mins I was back to normal and got a normal sinus ECG. Can anyone interpret the ECG for me and say what was going on? many thanks, Paul.

Here we go
Horrendous bad night caused by firstly being given fusimide at 10pm, from that moment I was going to the loo every 20 mins up until 6 am this morning. But to do this I had to walk to the toilet, about 25 feet, with mega chest pain and I mean mega and breathing difficulties and the only way I could do

tests done 48 hours a part and it went from 925 to 12500. At 7 weeks they said that the sac got bigger and there’s something inside of it but they could not conclusively tell me that this pregnancy is viable or not. They scheduled another ultrasound for this Friday (8 weeks and 3 days).

NM Rubidium 82 Test
Hello everyone just an update well I had a a NM Rubidium 82 scan on the 21st July 2023. I received the results. No blockage in my arteries, however, it did show that at rest my EF was 14%at stress level 20%. I am not sure if this is at a dangerous level as in 2019 I had a EF reading of 30% to 35%.

What AF looks like on an ECG
For those told they have AF and trying to make sense of an ECG, I thought that I'd post a copy of my ECG. I have permanent AF but thankfully without symptoms so it has no effect on my life other than having to take 1.25mg of Bisoprolol and 60 mg Edoxaban every day. This is what my ECG always looks

I was finally diagnosed with AF in June this year (2023) after 7 years of experiencing fluttering in my throat, occasional heart racing during the night and a feeling of occasional faintness during the day. Granted Covid put a stop to most hospital and GP visits so I soldiered on with concern which didn

Cardioversion Prep
I’m having my first cardioversion in 6 days time and they told me to shave my chest. They did say that they would do it if I can’t but they made such a hash of shaving tiny bits for the ECG that I’d rather do it myself. What they didn’t say though was how much or where to shave. Do I need to shave

AF and statins
Hello.I’d appreciate some advice. Four years ago I had atrial flutter. I had cardioversion and was put on blood thinners and BP meds. In the last few months it has returned as PAF. My ECG watch goes red every other day for hours or days. It can come on its own or be triggered by exercise. When exercising

Exercise makes my AF worse (part 2)
Hi all, I posted a couple of days ago mentioning how I felt worse after exercise - felt like the slightest stroll strained my heart. Well it got worse! I had a bad night. AF kicked off around 1am as usual so had the Flec PIP, fell asleep and woke up with tachycardia and cold sweats at 5am. Calmed

Atrial Fibrillation problem
I was first diagnosed with AF almost 20 years ago and am on medication since then. I am in AF all the time and on Bisoprolol 10mg and Edoxaban. In the last few weeks, I have felt my heart BPM have been faster and more erratic than usual. In the last few days it seems to have got worse, going up to 166

What do you take into hospital, to help while on the ward?
Quite a few questions come up on here about the surgery, and recovery... but this might also help those preparing to go in... or if you are stuck in after an A&E visit, what should your relatives bring in for you? VISITORS Some can be hard work, you almost feel like you need to keep the conversation

Newly diagnosed and don't know what to do.
My A Fib began with a mild, pulsating feeling in my throat and it promoted me to take a manual pulse reading. It was then that I noticed my heart skipped every 6th beat or so, then it stopped in less than a minute. My bpm was not more the 70.Since then, I have had an ECG and I was stunned when they said
