Calpol plug in
Anyone with kids/grandkids/nieces:nephews etc here that have used the calpol plug in? I put it on tonight for my lg just for 30mins as she's all clogged up but my god, I can't even go into the room. My face is actually sore from coughing! Does it have this affect on anyone else?

Sleep training?!?
Ok, I'm trying really hard not to cry right now, because me and my boyfriend haven't slept properly for nearly 5 weeks. I know she's still only little (20wks 2 days) but she was sleeping through from 10 weeks, being completely breast fed. I've now had to stop feeding her as it has been every two hours

2 year old with asthma
Looking for a bit of advice. My son is 2 and has quite bad asthma, he has been admitted 3 times in 7 weeks. He currently takes seritide 125 and montelukast 4mg. He has an asthma plan but last attack didn't go through any zones straight from green to red, what I would like to know is last admittance all

ICU acquired weakness, pancreatitis nightmare
Hi, I'm new here. Found this site while looking for information about ICUAW. All I've been able to find is written in technical medical jargon, which I can't make sense of. I'll start from the beginning, and try not to go on for too long... Back in November, my 44 year old brother went in for emergency

12 Months of Allergies
Hi All. I'm new to this community, so hope I'm posting this in the right place! I am at a complete loss - just over 12 months ago, my little boy (then aged 11 months) got a sickness bug. The sickness bug seemed to go on forever, but after a week we decided it wasn't a bug anymore as he was fine in

sleeping beauties
Hi All, Just after some advice. Our little lady (will soon be 18 months) has been a good sleeper until recently. She hasn't been well for about 8 weeks now but has recently started to improve. The last 4 nights she has been waking up and not being able to get herself back to sleep. This has resulted

Haldol Injection for Parkinsons Patient!!! PART 1
Can't find a sufficient word to express the magnitude of the horror I am now living. I already HAD drug induced Parkinsons diagnosed in 2006. It was a fairly moderate case other than balance and severe executive functioning only cognitive disorder. It had been stable over the last 2 yrs or so. I've been

Severe Sleep Issues
My son is almost six months old, but for the past month he has been crying in his sleep three-four hours after being put to bed. I have tried many things to settle him, like dentinox, calpol, dummy, bottle with water, but have found that milk is the only thing to settle him, but even that doesn't last

6 month old suddenly waking in night!!
My LO has recently turned 6 months old. He's been sleeping through for the past 2 months and I thought we had cracked it. Until the start if this week, he has been waking every night at 1:30am. I've recently started weaning at 5 months by giving him purée once a day with his bottle. I've slowly increased

My baby is now 9.5 months old and is running a fever of 38.5. What to do?
. I called 111 and they suggested to give nurofen in addition to the calpol i gave her. it has been more than 45 min ago and her temp is now 38.4. She is sleeping and doesn't show any sign of distress. Do i leave her to sleep. should i wake her up to give her calpol in 3-4 hrs if her temp is still that

Teething and sleep?
My lo is 12 weeks and hubby and I are fairly sure she has started teething - I know it's early but all the signs are there: chewing her fists, dribbling everywhere, red cheeks etc. She's doing ok with it so far, just a little grumpiness early evening, but her sleep has completely changed in the last

Anyone heard of the nhs minor ailments scheme?
I've been into town today with my other half while he gets his haircut & other bits & bobs, and while chatting to his hairdresser he mentions millys cough. She said to just pop to boots & they will give you some calpol for free! We didn't as we already have some & she doesn't like it anyway- but googled

Breastfeeding, on going tummy trouble and mood swings
Hi all, I have been bf for 12 weeks now, all the family had a tummy bug 5-7 weeks ago and mine and baby's kept reoccurring. It's settled for now after another session last week (although general opinion from gps and pharmacist is that it may now be post infection IBS symptoms), I've had stool samples

What to give to a baby 5.5 months with blocked nose and a cough?
My baby girl had a hard time to sleep tonight as it was hard for her to breath normally. She only slept on my hands. Should I take her to GP or just give her Calpol? She doesn't have fever.

Hi Ladies, My 4 month old had really bad cold and cough.. every time he sneezes or coughs, it breaks my heart! :-( .. had his third set of immunisation but the nurse asked to reschedule as my baby had a bit of a temperature too.. she said there isn't a proper medication for baby cough and cold apart
