Hi,

I have a 22 months old boy who is usually a happy baby but he is teething for more than 2 months now and it just has been a very difficult time since!

It must be the second molars and 2 front bottom teeths...the rest is there already.

When he is in pain, he just wants to watch nursery rhymes (it seems its the only things that can distract him from the pain)...we tried not to let him watch, but there is no way he will stop crying then.

He screams, kicks, throws things (and himself on the floor) when he's in pain, he does not sleep before 1 or 2 am and if he does, he usually wakes up in the middle of the night/ early morning due to pain and wants to watch nursery rhymes!

We have tried everything...Chamomilla pain relief, teething gel, Nurofen, Calpol and so on...

We haven't been to playgroups for months because he just doesn't enjoy it and is just clinging on me.

He is hardly eating anything proper (besides fruits or cucumber etc) and when I take him out he doesnt want to walk or come out of his baby chair.

We need a proper sleeping pattern again, it just makes me crazy! It feels like it has been going on for forever :-(

Does anyone know how much longer it will probably take? Or any other advice? I would really appreciate it!

Are you sure it's all about pain? Have you given him adequate pain relief? It may be that he is testing your boundaries, he knows if he throws a tantrum he will get what he wants (nursery rhymes). My little girl is only 19months but she certainly knows how to make some noise when she doesn't get her own way!

They don't usually have so much pain after their first few come through. He may just be testing you. My little one is 21 months. They really do try to see just how much they can get away with x

Have you tried ambesol liquid from.the chemist? It's been a life saver for us, my daughters 22 months and getting the last of her teeth now and had to go buy more as she hasn't been teething for months!
