First visit with nephrologist
So today I had my first visit with the nephrologist. Before I get to that here is what has been going on. My regular doctor referred me because my routine labs showed 44. Now my previous doctor just told me to drink more water and that was it. Well doctor #2 said to drink water and recheck in 2 weeks

Active Surveillance Is Over For Me
Hello Everybody Age 66 and in good general health. No diabetes and not overweight. Only take two medicines at a low dose: Lisinopril and Simvastatin. Sixteen months ago a nodule was felt during annual physical. PSA was 0.90. A biopsy done fifteen months ago showed one core (of 12) with 10% Gleeson

very high blood pressure
I have had and AV node ablation and a PVI in an effort to control my AF . I was given sotalol and it seems to agree with me. I am usually sensitive to most drugs. Unfortunately although it is said that it makes the BP plunge the opposite has happened to me. I do take a diuretic - indapamide, but since

Need some help.
I was wondering if anyone knows if Lisinopril can lower EGFR? I have a weird blood pressure problem in that my blood pressure goes very high only when I am standing up and walking around. Without meds it can go as high as 170/120 and is normally 140/110. But when I am seated, it can be absolutely normal

Digoxin
My GP has taken me off Digoxin for no apparent reason. This appears to be the only pill that I was prescribed specifically for AF at the time of diagnosis so I don't understand why. I'm obviously going to have to see him but in the meantime, can anybody help? I'm particularly worried what the results

on the hamster wheel, and help
As I have posted over the past months, I had been awaiting from April to get to see a new GP. This day finally came. I prepared with all my notes, all the medical charts and testing papers I could get from previous Doctors whom I saw from 2005-2019, my journals of daily life, my home practices of pain

BP & Pulse following Cardioversion
I had a cardioversion following a 999 call 2 days ago. Now home I find my BP 95/51 with a pulse of 56. Would this be the Cardioversion effect or drugs (only on 5mg lisinopril and 25mg atenolol so not heavy duty drug use) and apixaban. Also feel lightheaded.

Antiarrhthmic drugs working great, but scheduled for ablation
Thank you to everyone for this wonderful forum. My husband, 56, started getting more and more out of breath and fatigued in November and December of last year. Finally he went to the ER (we are in the US) on January 2. He was in AF and his heart rate was 180 but they got it down to between 130 and

I’m 56 former professional athlete who’s had occasional skipped beats since my thirties. About two years ago I would get bouts of about twenty skips a day for a month and they would gradually go away. Visited cardiologist, did blood work and found high cholesterol (family history) and slightly high blood

A possibly interesting publication revealing 10-fold increase in inflammatory molecule in microvascular angina patients.
This post is rather long. My “Google Scholar Alerts” have notified me of a possibly interesting abstract relating to the physiology of microvascular angina (MVA): https://www.ahajournals.org/doi/abs/10.1161/atvb.39.suppl_1.348 The abstract shows that the tested MVA patients had elevated levels of a

Advice please
Hi all, I would be most grateful for your advice. Currently on 11mg of Prednisolone using the DSNS plan. I’ve started to feel that my shoulders are slightly heavy (not pain), a slight nagging in left temple (not pain and not continuous) and a new symptom of weakness in my middle fingers. Shall I

GFR of 48
Hi friends, just had labs, and got a call from my doctor to make an appointment to talk with her about my kidney function. My current GFR is 48, and was 66 two years ago. I’m trying not to panic, but I’m worried. I have no swelling, no blood in my urine, and feel okay. Any suggestions on how to increase

Ablation - Second Procedure
All the anti arrhythmia drugs failed for me, but I am on metoprolol taurtrate, Eliquis, colchicine,
fosinopril
, and Crestor. I wish all of you the best and continued success with your AFIB care. One of the nurses was 24 years old and has Afib. She has been on flecinide for two years.

Part Doggie and Allergies
I found out that I am allergic to mold and peas thanks to the family doctor. The ER told me that I had an allergic reaction to my blood pressure med Lisinopril. It happens to people sometimes, they can be taking it for a yr or less and it happens. But my hives are almost gone and I stopped taking it.

Been doing really well until today and started getting bad headache. Blood pressure was 164/108 so took my nighttime dose of lisinopril and Coreg early and an hour later lower but still high at 150/95. Is this normal?

Photodermatitis and Amiodarone
Has anyone experienced this while taking Amiodarone? I've had a rash break out on both of my forearms and my doctor says it resembles photodermatitis, sensitivity to UV rays. I've been on Amiodarone since March 2019, never had anything like this before...I also take Lisinopril.
