ABLATION PLUS 3 MONTHS
Looks like the
Flecainide
did cause my MAT to morph into Aflutter as the EP said and I believe the higher dose of Bisoprolol I had before I started on
Flecainide
had the same effect (as I had Aflutter before I started
Flecainide
but it was not as bad).

Recovery from PVI
Also my resting heart rate is still 75 - 80 ie 20 to 25 beats above my previous level despite A low dose of verapamil ( off
flecainide
since 3 days pre procedure) and so it’s quite disconcerting to feel this when resting. I am supposed to stop this verapamil dose tomorrow.

Very confused about ablation
I am now talking to different doctors about getting an ablation they all agree that I need an ablation but all of them say the same thing I am doing it for quality of life and my heart is strong I've had A-fib since 2014 and it has gotten progressively worse I get it every few days I take tenormin

Stress Echogram
I take Bisoprolol 3.25mg and
Flecainide
50mg bd I am a fit 75yr old in permanent AF well controlled getting a little breathless on exertion, that’s my only symptom. Seems like overkill to me I use that term advisedly.

What next? Afib advice please
Flecainide
and Bisoprolol were not managing my Afib, so I had a cryo ablation in February which worked for a few days but then Afib came back with a flutter friend! Have now had a cardioversion which hasn’t worked.

Flecainide at home or hospital?
When you began
flecainide
, was it at home or in the hospital? Did your doctor monitor you? They are starting me at home and no monitoring.

Information re: beta blockers
Stopped by 100 mgs of
flecainide
PIP. I've tried dietary adjustments, supplements, lifestyle changes, etc., and I'm not sure where to go next. My physician thinks the frequency of my AF episodes would be reduced if I take more Metoprolol, but I'm not sure about that.

Just when I thought I was done with doctors for a while....
I also mentioned about the blurred vision I’d had on some drugs - Verapamil and
Flecainide
and he said there are a number of heart drugs that can do that to you.

Blood clotting & Stinging Nettle root
In checking any contra-indications re my AF and
Flecainide
and in particular that it does not increase the risk of a blood clot I read 'Nettle or stinging nettle possesses anticoagulant or blood thinning property'.

Can anyone tell me about tikosyn
I had an ablation last July, currently use
flecainide
and recently had 3 breakthroughs, one lasting about 26 hours. The PA for my electrophysiologist is talking about this drug. I've not heard any thing about it.

Has anyone transitioned from metoprolol to flecainide? I am suppose to taper off metoprolol while starting 50 mg of flecainide.
I’m wondering what I should expect and how fast does
flecainide
work?

Sotalol<—>Flecainide
Flecainide
to Sotalol) and then back again if necessary. I hadn’t heard this before but thought it was interesting and possibly important. If anyone knows any more please let me know.

Has anyone chopped a 50mg
flecainide
in two and taken 25mg twice a day Any success? Anyone on
Flecainide

Flecainide
giving me a puffed up head and tiredness. Thanks folks

It is a BIG day for me...
I stopped
flecainide
3 or 4 weeks ago and asked if he would consider taking me off the metoprolol and blood thinners and he agreed to the metoprolol but recommended I stay on the blood thinners for now. For those that have stopped metoprolol, did you stop all at once or ween off?
