My cardiologist recommended this for me (for the same reason) but I haven’t been game to start this reduced dosage. I hate going into AF that much. My current dosage seems to work - I used to use flecenaide only - for about 3 years - but eventually I started getting a-flutter that would not go away. The very risk of taking flecenaide alone - you can develop flutter. So I’d be wary of using flecenaide on its own
50mg is a very small dose. Is it effective and why do you want to take it in 2 parts? I’ve been taking 150mg slow release for about 5 years now which has suppressed my PAF almost completely. I add 1.25mg of Bisoprolol if my heart rate exceeds about 80 beats. I can always feel this. What else do you use in conjunction with Flecainide to help with Afib?
I was started on 50mg twice a day and it left me severely short of breath so I was gasping every time I moved. I contacted my EP after I cut it down as that too was not successful. He said I could stop it, as I was only 5 days in. This reaction was worse than the breathlessness. so speak to your EP.
