Flecainide

He said my symptoms were likely caused by the high altitude and reduced oxygen level and suggested I take 50 mg of Flecainide which I had with me as a pill in the pocket. I got on my connecting flight and about 15 minutes later my heart rate subsided and I began to feel normal.

I was taken off Flecainide after the ablation, but the arrhythmia nurses told me recently to take it as needed until I have a Holter monitor later this month. It doesn't seem to make any difference now when I take it, my pulse is still changing from irregular to regular and fast.

Hello, just started taking Flecainide for AF and I am feel poorly, breathless on exertion, weak, fatigued. The doctors seem to know very little about this specialist drug and they say my heart is adjusting and this will ware off in time.

Should I have an ablation when I have mostly been well on Flecainide for over a year? I am 67 year old female. Thanks

I have been taking Flecainide for 10 days now 50mg twice daily for PVCs and none sustained runs of VT. They haven’t worked has much than I thought they would. My EP said if the Flecainide don’t work then I could have an ablation.

BTW, 4 years ago, I controlled it very well with Flecainide until the ablation. Zero AFIB for 9 months while waiting for ablation. 1. What are the odds that this was a one time bad luck? 2. Should I start taking Flecainide again? I already take 25 mg of metoprolol for skipped beats. 3.

I take 200 mg Flecainide plus blood thinner. My reasoning for having the ablation was to get off all meds at some point but have I misunderstood this? Would be grateful for any options on this.

All, I currently take 2.5mg of Bisoprolol twice per day for paroxysmal Afib that typically occurs 1-2 times per week and is usually terminated by 100mg Flecainide PIP within 2-3 hours.

following a number of attempts at flecainide / atenolol pill in pocket eventually converted back to SR for 2days then then without any obvious trigger atrial flutter which lasted 4 days despite usual pill in pocket attempts at converting Atrial flutter is definitely preferable to atrial fibrillation

Three weeks after my fourth ablation, and advised to drop flecainide, the beast returned. (Kept on metoprolol & Xarelto). Started after an afternoon nap for no reason at all. Confirmed by nurse with ecg yesterday and put back on flecainide until appointment on Monday with ep and another ecg.

Is it ok to drive whilst on bisoprolol 5mg & flecainide 100mg? I drive a lot with work and am a little nervous after my latest arrhythmia episode 3 weeks ago.

Still on my medication although been told to stop the bisoprolol and Flecainide after week 2 post ablation which I’m nervous about. What’s your experiences after ablation?

Thank you to all those who helped and advised over weekend - saw consultant tonight - ecg shows some delayed heart actions/extra beats but not AF thankfully but we’re keeping meds the same at moment and maybe a new ambulatory BP check as if stop Flecainide could go back in to AF, reducing or stopping

Or is the flecainide not responsible for the low pulse rate is it the bisoprolol? Any advice or personal experience opinions would be appreciated thanks

I take regular flecainide which has been working most of the time, but have had a few random episodes lately, no apparent triggers. Last night, a strange thing happened. I was almost asleep when I suddenly went into AF. I breathed deeply and it went back regular. It only lasted less than a minute.

I’m due to have a colonoscopy the week after next and as I’m on flecainide (50mg x2) and bisoprolol (1.25mg) would appreciate some advice. I don’t think I need to stop the medication before the procedure, so I’ve read but does the midazolam interact with the drugs in any way please.

Wrote about coming of Flecainide. Arrythmia nurse just rang, consultant says if I want to. Not very helpful! 300 on the list to see him before me. So it’s go it alone I guess. Thank you everyone for your advice. Di 😢

Hi guys again ...just a quick question to anyone using flecainide. I've just started my new flecainide treatment on it a day and a half 3 tablets in basically ..

They have upped my beta blockers to 2.5 in the morning and 2.5 at night as they don’t want to give me flecainide until they know more about how sound my heart is. Anyone else experienced this? I am struggling to take on board a new arrhythmia but I guess that’s just the way it goes.
