First Post - Flecainide with Diltiazem
Question - does anyone have experience of taking Diltiazem alongside
Flecainide
, and if so, has that been ok in terms of QoL and side effects? I’ve been taking
Flecainide
for a year or so, 100mg twice daily and been fine, so am worried about the severe side effects possible for the Diltiazem.

Statins
I have AF but it’s controlled so far with daily
flecainide
and bisoprolol. I get a three monthly blood test for iron overload but this week the doctor advised me to get a cholesterol blood test as well.

Advice please - feeling worried
My EP is now saying I am not a suitable patient for a daily dose of
Flecainide
due to Calcium score and that if the AF becomes too intrusive I could be considered for Dronedarone. He has upped my statin from 5mg to 10mg.

Has anyone ever been told that ablation will not work for them?
Flecainide
which nearly killed me after taking just 3 tablets, which I was coerced into taking by a+e cardiologist who refused to acknowledge that two previous cardiologists would not give me
Flecainide
until extent of a blocked artery was determined.

Lexiscan Chemical Stress Test
My EP wants me to have a chemical stress test before he puts me on
Flecainide
. I have so many problems with Afib and PACs that I’m terrified to have them inject me with something that’s going to make my heart take off.

Another hospital admission
I now have issues with an irregular heart rhythm, they don't know if it is caused by SVT, for which I take
Flecainide
for, or if it caused by Microvascular disease causing problems with the electrical conduction. I'm going to be referred back to the Electrophysiologist. The diagnosis is still MVA.

Ectopics in the morning.
I currently take a daily dose of
Flecainide
. The dose is low, 50mg x 2, but I'd like to avoid increasing my dose, if I can.

AF and amiodaran treatment, ablations, cardioversions
Keep taking my
flecainide
and get another cardioversion, although that might be a waste of time according to the consultant. 3. Stop taking
flecainide
and switch to amiodarone, then get another cardioversion. Hopefully, the amiodarone can keep me in regular rhythm and then I can have ablations.

Flecainide
I've been told by my cardiologist I have yo take
Flecainide
. Please can I ask if anyone else has had experience with this? I'm quite afraid to take it, especially given its bad press. I'm so afraid thst it won't ease or cease my ventricular bigeminy. Thanks.

Coughing and AFib
Background: afib diagnosed after a stroke in 2018 (a bit barn door and horse situation there) and a cryo-ablation in 2018. a couple of years of break through episodes and then began talking
flecainide
. three blissful years of no episodes and now it seems to be starting up again with one each in September

My uncertain heart
And (to get to where all this is leading) if I go into AF should I try raising my heart rate with exercise before reaching for
flecainide
?

Dilemma with vaccination.
I have been lucky enough this past few months to have seen a big improvement since being prescribed low dose
flecainide
, and really don't want this to be upset. So go ahead or not is my dilemma. Is anyone in a similar situation? Thank you.

SVT ablation advice
My cardiologist says it's up to me and if I don't have one he doesn't believe there's a long term risk with
Flecainide
. I might still need meds afterwards anyway as my other arrhythmias are so frequent & tiring but I could be med free. The thought of an ablation terrifies me.

too much aldosterone and afib?
I currently take potassium, carvedilol, lisinopril, Triamterene,
flecainide
, and xarelto. Even though 3 of these meds are supposed to control high blood pressure, my blood pressure is uncontrolled. So my question, has anyone here have a similar problem with too much aldosterone production?

Hi everyone❤️
Hi everyone ❤️ just wanted to ask one question and I will make it short :) I am having my 4 ablation now this Tuesday and having to stop my
flecainide
now today as in 5 days prior to the procedure. I blame this on my AF but I can’t remember having done that for so many days before?

Ablation
I had my GP review the meds very quickly (ignoring the massive increase in
Flecainide
the Cardio Nurse wanted) after which I had very little AF, and my numbers have been within the NHS guidelines for several months. Today, I have been asked to have the pre-op assessment....

unexpected side effect of Flecainide
i don’t take any meds for Fibro, can only tolerate paracetamol for pain relief (which doesn’t really do a lot for me) My cardiologist started me on a new medication,
Flecainide
50mg 2 x day, to help regulate my heart rythym and help control the af.
