Firmagon

He started Firmagon and then on Zoladex and then 6 cycles of docetaxel which finished at the end of November. His mets in general have reduced significantly in both the liver and lungs. His latest PSA test in April 2022 is showing 0.22, doubling about every month.

He has had 2 Firmagon shots last week. He had a normal PSA last year so doctors said his PC is rare and very aggressive. He is being treated at Hartford Healthcare in CT which is associated with Sloan Kettering.

He started and continued monthly Firmagon for 6 months; then took one year of ADT vacation. He then started estradiol patches in July 2021, which worked til about January/February 2022.

I hope someone can provide me with some insight I posted on here before regarding my dad (66 yo, initial PSA 200+, Mets on pelvis, spine, shoulders, lymph nodes, DVT complications, Kidney complications necessitating bilateral nephrostomy tubes) Right now he has started ADT (Firmagon) but his chart says

I am 10 months into ADT (firmagon and erleada ) I work out 3 times a week .I take some supplement with my yogurt or smoothie.What do you think of Calcium ( bone boost ) and magnesium ( magnesium complex ) supplements ?

Two shots of Firmagon 12/20. Started quarterly shots of Eligard and daily 1200mg abiraterone plus prednisone Jan. 2021. By July 2021 PSA was undetectable and still is. Fortunately I'm tolerating the drugs very well but the big problem for me is zero sex desire and ability!

Whoever came up with the aptly named ‘Firmagon’ clearly had a sense of humour! However, we do still both enjoy intimacy, and we have found taking time for simple touch to be very rewarding. I know without doubt and unequivocally that at these times I only want my husband’s touch.

I have been on monthly Firmagon injections and taking 2 80mg tabs of Xtandi every night for a year, now. Thanks!

I’m having ADT (Firmagon) after being diagnosed with BCR. Nothing seen outside of prostate by a PSMA… I don’t want salvage treatment because of toxicities after having had external beam radiation. If i continue with firmagon i will be having side effects.

Firmagon (degarelix) was FDA approved in 2008. The prevailing consensus is that degarelix is the superior drug. This conclusion is not unchallenged.

Started ADT: Firmagon, then Lupron + Zytiga; in Fall 2021 did EBRT and HDR Brachytherapy.

Have been on Firmagon for 4 months now. My PSA went down to 0.064 within one week. I told my RO the symptoms were tough, hot flashes & fatigue. He called my MO and suggested we do the Firmagon every 6 months. The RO said it wouldn't change the effectiveness of the treatment. That confuses me.

One, seemingly highly praised, strongly recommends 2 months of ADT, one shot of Firmagon, then 1 month of Orgovyx before removing it. This is currently NOT recommended by NCCN guidelines because it has not been shown to make a long-term difference, although this MD says it potentially will.

I'm on month two of temporary ADT (Firmagon, switching soon to Orgovyx), and the hot flashes are getting more frequent and intrusive. Any tips?

I'm on Firmagon once a month and it's working fine. The only problem is that I feel like garbage for 2 or 3 days after the shot. Is there any difference in effectiveness if I had a 6 month shot of Lupron or Eligard?

Following initial diagnosis, he was started on Firmagon. 4/5 months after that, we had a psma pet scan done that showed :Ca prostate with mild residual mass lesion in relation to base and mid gland region.

Started firmagon and zytiga in early December. Decided that HDR + Ebrt was my best radiation treatment option, primarily because a median lobe presented issues for seed therapy according to Johns Hopkins RO. Have been battling insurance to approve doctors, and finally have options.
