Abiraterone Failure
I began Abiraterone on Jan 11,2020...my last three PSA readings are .76 12/11/20), 2.1 (2/25/20), 3.9 (3/27/20)...so I have failed abiraterone...(have ruled out BRCA2+ mutation...also I believe we have ruled out AR-V7 expression)..my alkaline phosphate remains good at 45...next choice seems to be enzalutamide

Afinitor or clinical trial
The ibrance or possibly the
faslodex
is no longer working for me or my cancer is progressing now on that. I am advised that I have a mutation that would indicate afinitor is the best med. Or another option would be to go on a clinical trial.

experience w/neutropenia?!
hey all- my husband is dealing w/neutropenia. he takes casodex & tamoxifen daily. have any of you experienced this before? hematologist thinks it may be related to the tamoxifen, but isn't sure. worried about him being even more immunocompromised right now.

Salvage Radiation Delay due to COVID 19
RO Mychalczak at Memorial Sloan Kettering Westchester (just outside Manhattan) wants to delay my 8 weeks of salvage radiation to Pelvic Lymph Nodes Prostate Bed due to Pandemic. Suggesting a 3 month shot of Lupron to keep PSA down in the interim My concern is that the Lupron may be keeping the PSA

Stats... devils (or angels) in the details?
I came across an interesting example of why it can be worthwhile to dig into the details that underlie statistic-based conclusions. (And I wasn't really digging that hard, this one fell into my lap.) In considering anti-androgen monotherapy as an initial systemic treatment for my metastatic 3+4=7 PC,

Visiting the hospital amidst COVID 19 scare ?
My dad is due for his 3-monthly Lupron shot on April 3rd. He is currently on Casodex + Lupron. He completed his chemo this January. As if dealing with the idea of advanced Pca wasn’t enough, the COVID-19 is a reminder of the fragility of our lives once again. How is everyone managing visiting the hospital

Basic Question About Casodex
Is Casodex used primarily to avoid PSA flare when starting Lupron? If so how long does it need to be taken? If so would starting ADT with a degaralix injection instead and then transitioning to lupron after a month be equally or more effective?

Imaging at Low PSA
I was on Lupron + Casodex for a year for lymph node metastasis. In November 2019, I started ADT vacation. My last Lupron shot was in September, 2019. In February 2020, my PSA was 0.07 (slightly up from 0.06 in November 2019) and T <20. Today, I learned that my MO wants me to have chest X ray, Abdomen

Abiraterone Withdrawal Syndrome - anyone experience it?
A friend of mine stopped Zytiga and his PSA went down. I'm familiar with bicalutamide withdrawal syndrome: PSA increases after a while taking Casodex but goes down when Casodex is stopped. This is caused by the Androgen Receptor using bicalutamide to become activated, and is well known. I've even

Rise in ALP level, PSA continues to fall, what can it mean?
My dad's ALP went down to 81 last month after 6 cycles of chemo. He then moved on to Lupron + Casodex. After 1 month, its now risen from 81 to 121. He also has little pain on and off in his back and thighs from 4 days. He has stopped taking his painkiller since a month and doesn't need them yet.
