Starting Apalutamide
Just got back from the doc and my PSA has inched up to 0.93 from 0.64 3 months ago while on Casodex and Lupron. We have decided to replace the Casodex with Apalutamide. I know this drug is pretty new, but if any of you have thoughts, suggestions, experiences to share I'm all ears. I'm expecting just

AKM Shamsuddin, MD, Ph.D. (Univ. of MD Medical School) invests decades in cancer research and gets results
In 2015, three years after I was dx with stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer (two pelvic bone mets, PSA 19, G8), I discovered Dr. Shamsuddin's book "IP6 and Inositol" in my search for anticancer natural supplements. IP6 is a molecule found in every cell of our body. It occurs naturally in many sources

New member, saying hi! Here for my daddy! =)
Hi guys! I'm a new member. I thought I'd take a moment and introduce myself and share my dad's story. It's a bit lengthy, so apologies in advance! =) Three years ago, by the fault of a drug-using, drug-dealing doctor my dad's PSA was rising, unmonitored and unaware. My 74 year old dad had developed a

1345
Dx on 2/1/18 with 1345 PSA, cancer had metastasized to bones, lungs and lymph nodes. Initial treatment of radiation which is eliminated bone pain along with 2X daily doses of Casodex. Have had once a month infusions of Zometa along with Decadron IV and also a shot of Eligard for past 6 months. PSA now

No Partner. Is it Realistic or Even Right To Seek One?
I haven't seen this topic addressed here, so here goes. I haven't had a girlfriend since just before I was diagnosed with stage 4 PCa, G (4+4), one bone met early last year. After 37 EBRT, LD brachytherapy then 10 follow-up EBRT sessions for pelvic lymph nodes early this year, (Precautionary, no mets

Then I was on
Faslodex
and a clinical trial testing out Ribociclib. Also progressed in under a year this time with spots on my liver and in my lungs. Then put on Xeloda.

Is my PSA score of 2.33 good, OK or bad ?
My previous PSA score 7 months back was 16.51. I was given Casodex 50 mg for 14 days, then Eligard 22.5 mg for 3 months and a further Eligard 45 mg for 6 months. In the interim, I had 38 sessions of radiation (IMRT). I have oligometastatic prostate cancer with the L4 vertebrae being affected. I have

Hormone refractory/ castrate resistant
If you respond to Zytiga/ Enzalutamide are you still considered hormone sensitive? I assumed my husband was hormone refractory once his PSA started rising on Lupron/ Casodex combo. It’s still to be determined if he will respond to the Enzalutamide.

Suggestions to prevent Chemotherapy side effects
Hello, I'm so grateful to all who have reached out to help answer my naive questions regarding this new journey we are taking with my dad. We were given a plan of treatment today and gave the green light to proceed. As many have assured me.......it will be difficult but do-able. Casodex began today..

Can Faslodex cause flare ups?
I’m really feeling tired on
Faslodex
? Did anyone else have this? I’m sure it’s the combination of cancer and
Faslodex
. I think the mind plays tricks because before I new the cancer had returned I was not tired. I’m hoping just flare ups causing this and not more cancer.

Up's & Down's
Moving forward, I have been on Ibrance,
Faslodex
& Xgeva since Sept. My family is very supportive, my daughter is a nurse in the oncology / telemetry unit & my husband has never missed an appointment with me. He wants to believe all is good & really wants me to stop dwelling on the "cancer"!

Treatment update
I’ve been posting here for about six months, but I am always uncomfortable about posting personal updates. I wonder whether I am bragging, whining, boring people or some combination of the above. Regardless, I enjoy reading the experiences of others, both positive and negative. I personally think

One consolidated, easy to follow modality
During my 28 years in the military I commanded several different units and the best way I was able to make the unit achieve outstanding levels of performance was to find a few of the most talented and motivated soldiers or cadets and assign them a task to put into place a plan that would use my general
