Dilated cardiomyopathy
Hi Folks, I recently went for an
echocardiogram
, where it was explained that my heart is weakened and enlarged. Iv3 now been told I have dilated cardiomyopathy, this is quite a scary time, just wondered, if anyone on here has been going through the same experience, and how they felt about it?

An update on my ECG, bloating post a month ago
I wanted to get an
Echocardiogram
(EKG) done. Instead she arranged for blood tests and an Electrocardiogram (ECG). Many of you ... Finvola, CDreamer, Jeanjeannie, Buffalfy, Hoski, BobD and several others made a range of comments many of which I have yet to act on. So, this is an update.

Echo showed strong heartbeat, pericardial scarring and fluid, and aortic valve scarring
The GP suspected heart failure (a junior, she's fabulous) put me on Bisoprolol 1.25mg+aspirin and a GTN spray for angina, and an urgent referral to Rapid Access Chest Pain which led to referral for an
echocardiogram
and a referral to a cardiologist - saw him this past Tuesday (18 June 2019).

Following up on my ECG posts
I took what I had, along with the device itself, along with my request for an
Echocardiogram
....... slammed into a brick wall.

Thickened heart muscle
I had an
echocardiogram
and saw the consultant yesterday. He said it showed a condition where the heart muscle in thickened at the apex which is causing the irregularities. I now have to have aanother 24 hour monitor.

PVCs are ruining my life
EKG,chest X-ray,
echocardiogram
and blood work all come back normal. ER dr, gp and cardiologist have all said I’m ok but my symptoms say different. No matter what I try to do to get my mind off of them, nothing works I’ll get them and all over again I’m in that Vicious cycle.

Coping with Uncertainty
Similarly a heart
echocardiogram
labelled normal showed thickened heart structure (don’t know what but was listening to the doctor muttering the report out loud to himself). I still get chest pain daily (for over a year now) sudden breathlessness and other symptoms.

How to make friends and influence people
Having arranged an
echocardiogram
on Tuesday for 2.30 pm I got there to find the appointment had been changed to 3.15. No problem - off to the café for a leisurely decaff. In due course my wife and I wandered back just in time to hear my appointment being called.

Echocardiogram shows left ventricular systolic dysfunction, 19 year old female
So fast forward to today and I went to get my medical history for a thyroid specialist (only bloods) and as I was looking through the blood test results, there has somehow gotten a line there that says '
echocardiogram
shows left ventricular systolic dysfunction' under which was written 'good'.
