Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia?
It seems like I’m always chasing An Answer haha I have recently been in hospital with sputum showing P. aeruginosa and S. aureus. Sputum sample #2 went missing, and I couldn’t produce a 3rd sample but my inflammatory markers — which I assume were raised when I was admitted — came down. I have only been

So this is the latest diagnosis...Saw a movement disorder specialist today. He's putting me back on rOPINIRole. I took this when I had Restless Leg in 2017. Guess we'll see how it goes..

Weight loss in Parkinson's predicts poor outcomes - which raises the question; what's worse, losing weight or eating sugar?
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5705250/ Patients with lower initial body weight and weight losers have a higher risk of developing
dyskinesia
. Weight losers are at risk of higher mortality and poor quality of life.

Who is active here who has Early Onset Parkinson's Disease?
I'm concerned about the possibility of
dyskinesia
, which is more likely to occur when people with Early Onset PD take levodopa. One study found that 70% of PwP who were diagnosed in their 40s developed
dyskinesia
within 5 years of starting levodopa. Anyone have any experience with this?

The journey of Levodopa inside the intestine.
In his blog of 9 February "BAC for the future", Simon of Science of Parkinson's remembers that Levodopa is converted into Dopamine by an enzyme called Decarboxylase DOPA. He also says that outside the brain there is a lot of decarboxylase dopa in other organs of the body, so there is a risk that Levodopa

Watch video - FYI
In the late 1980s, open-label trials established the efficacy of apomorphine injection and infusion (Figure 4) in overcoming refractory “off” periods as well as attenuation of
dyskinesia
in PD.43 There is now Level 1 evidence from randomized, placebo-controlled studies available for apomorphine injection

Preliminary report on B1 HDT trial -
At 9.30 I suddenly felt dizzy, weak, rapid pulse, shaking (not like
dyskinesia
). I felt dreadful all day. I still took my 2nd 2 gm B1 dose at 12 pm. I was by now fully PD'd up and in a mess. But I was starting to wonder.

1st 3weeks on B1
Sorry Roy I'm sure I'm supposed to post this on Facebook I just don't use it. I'm very happy to report that the use of B1 has been very good for me I only wish I started earlier. I'm in my 11th year 7 years since diagnosis. Dr.C recommended one gram a day for two weeks and increase if all is well. Yesterday

Husband is in Sinemet 25/100, 4x/day since diagnosis 4 years ago. At recent visit with movement neurologist, he said movement is stiff and could be improved with a medication update. Decision was to try Mirapex. Starting with a .25mg Rx ... take 1/2 tablet a day for 5 days and then titrate up slowly

KETAMINE STILLS PARKINSON'S
Neuroscientist Torsten Falk's research indicates that the anesthetic ketamine eases
dyskinesia
in rodents and also in five Parkinson's patients who were already taking it for pain relief. Repurposing ketamine for
dyskinesia
could get it to patients quicker.
