Advice Needed Urgently
Chemo would be Ketoconazole and
Doxorubicin
for weeks 1, 3, and 5 and Estramustine and Docetaxel for weeks 2, 4, and 6. No treatments during weeks 7 and 8. Not sure if radiotherapy is included or not. There is my conundrum. I'm at a fork in the road and I don't know which way to go.

Cat scan results show small growth, waiting for tumor testing to see if I qualify for clinical trials.
If I don't qualify, I was told I might be put on
Doxorubicin
. I will write an update when I find out what is coming next. Bless all of you out there fighting this with me.

Just needing to talk
Saw the oncologist last week and his plan is to throw everything at me -
doxorubicin
/cyclophosphamide 4 cycles, taxane 12 weekly cycles, radiotherapy, 6-monthly bisphosphonate infusions for three years, and anastrozole for ten years (if I survive that long...) I am a bit undecided.

Keep safe in the Sun
Some of the chemotherapy drugs known to cause photosensitivity / sunburn include: •Methotrexate •DTIC (dacarbazine) •Oncovir (vinblastine) •Adriamycin (
doxorubicin
) •VePesid (etoposide) Thankfully, this increased sensitivity to the sun goes away soon after completing chemotherapy.

Newly diagnosed (liposarcoma) and starting treatment (doxorubicin) on Monday
The histology has now confirmed that I have a retro-peritoneal lipo-sarcoma which is not operable and I am due to start on
doxorubicin
on Monday. Things are moving fast and I think thats best but I also want to do what I can to do to maximise my well being.

Nail changes with chemo drugs
Two groups of chemotherapy drugs are particularly prone to cause nail changes: Taxanes e.g. docetaxel and paclitaxel Anthracyclines e.g.
doxorubicin
, idarubicin and epirubicin. Nail changes may also be seen with hydroxyurea.

Mum's battle
On 13 Feb she is due to start chemo with Liposomal
Doxorubicin
every four weeks. Then, after 6 months she may be able to have the original chemo she had. I suppose I'm looking for positive stories and reassurance.
