2nd recurrence. 4 chemo combos all failed. Any suggestions?
In September got
Doxil
single agent but after 3 infusions and doubling of CA125 after each infusion Onco changed the chemo. I was put back on carbo/gemzar which I had used for 1st recurrence. After 6 cycles my CA125 remained in the 50s and Onco said I am stable but won't ever be NED.

Anyone with Long treatment but reach remission
Because I was then platinum resistant I did
Doxil
. Three months didn't work so changed to carbo/gemzar. Six cycles only achieved stable. Now I am onto cyclophosphamide/gemzar in the hope of getting remission. My Onco says I will not see remission.

Ovarian cancer in my breast?
Cancer came back and had been on Cisplat/
doxil
x12mos once a month and then ca-125 rose to 223. so ct done and showed cancer had progressed. I was changed to Vinorelbine every 3 weeks and off a week. over the next 4 months suddenly developed ascites in my belly and a rash and bumps on my breasts.

Doxil decision
and offers
Doxil
(or caelyx) treatment alone. I'm trying to decide whether to take the treatment or not. Does any of you have ever taken
Doxil
and don't regret it? Rexy

Ascites preventing debulking surgery?
I was finally switched to
doxil
this last visit, hopefully that will start to make a difference. I just wonder if anyone else had surgery despite the ascites or if it is standard to wait for the ascites to go away before surgery. Thanks all!

Painful Journey ...Still looking for a hope
Dignosed on Oct. 2013, Peritoneal/abdominal might be ovary origin, metastatic papillary serous carcinoma...the last 12 months finished 3 kind of chemo Carbo & Taxol,
Doxil
as well as etoposide. Last CT showed few/small progression here and there with no sign of remission at all.

IN CASE THIS IS OF INTEREST TO ANYONE.
A five-arm international randomized study of primary therapy for patients with stage III or IV disease evaluated carboplatin and paclitaxel as the control arm and studied two triplets (carboplatin + paclitaxel with either gemcitabine or liposomal doxorubicin [
Doxil
]) and two sequential doublets (topotecan

My ovaries were removed 4 years ago now I have ovarian cancer???
The chemo that I get next is
Doxil
. The oncologist wants me to have a port implanted for my chemo and bloodwork because my veins are almost useless. I stay weak most of the time. Probably because I am a nervous eater my weight keeps going up.
