Day 1 as a CHADD member
I did not realize that danger was the trigger that gave me a boost of adrenalin and
dopamine
making me feel normal for a short while. I joined the US Navy after getting fired from my Job at Pizza Hut. I quickly moved up the ranks to Assistant Manager because.

Incontinence and dopamine agonists
Hi - just a short post about my mum. Anyone know if DAs can affect bladder control at all? My mum seems blighted by this (she is elderly so it could just be an age thing). Thanks!

ADHD and Addiction
(3)
Dopamine
- once we have higher levels of
dopamine
, there is a bit of contentment and we don't always feel the need to 'do' something and engage in risky behavior. Lack of
dopamine
always puts us as risk because we are always 'seeking' something and that could be an addictive behavior.

Switching from Ropinrole to eg Gabapentin
Hi everyone, I’m wondering if someone can advise about going from
dopamine
agonists - specifically Ropinrole - to the gabapentin type of medication ? My mum is suffering terrible drowsiness (as well as many other symptoms) and I think it’s time to try to do this.

Phase III trial for Cerevance’s lead CNS therapy, CVN424, in patients with Parkinson’s disease.
CVN424 is a non-
dopamine
therapy that inhibits G protein-coupled receptor 6 (GPR6), which is an orphan receptor as it has no naturally produced agonist that activates the receptor. The GPR6 inhibition can potentially improve motor and non-motor manifestations of Parkinson’s.

observations of progressing PD for PWP......Eyes
The smooth muscles that intricately control the eye are effected as all smooth muscles and all sphincter muscles are, by
dopamine
or lack thereof. The tear ducts which are controlled by the Autonomic nervous system, fail to release tears. The eyelids become very itchy as well as the eyes.

Doesn’t the Half-Life of C/L apply only to, while in the bloodstream and once Levodopa crosses the BBB it is stored until used?
I am thinking that once L-dopa crosses the BBB it is stored until used (maybe as
dopamine
). And, Half-Life is how long it stays in your Blood Stream. The
plasma
half-life of levodopa is about 50 minutes, without carbidopa.

Dopamine to Pregabalin transition advice, please
I started taking Mirapexin in 2002. My dose increased over the years, reaching 5 x 0.088 mg tablets four years ago when augmentation set in. Three years ago, my doctor prescribed pregabalin and allowed me to manage my transition from Mirapexin. I have not yet completed that transition. Today, I take

Sleep for Pain relief
Overnight is fair enough because you expect systems to repair and renew and tine for
dopamine
stores to build. But for me, even a 15 minute nap can be enough. Why? What is the mechanism of action that turns pain off after just 15 mins of sleep??

Pramipexole - Confused
He knows the risks of
dopamine
agonist augmentation, but has still wondered if I should try Pramipexole. I am very reluctant because of the risk of augmentation that I’ve read about in this forum. I am trying to limit dairy and gluten.
