Triplet Therapy Failed. Now what?
Doctor started with hormonal treatment while waiting for him to regain some strength, added Abiraterone (Zytiga) and
Docetaxel
chemotherapy as soon as his body could handle it effectively starting triplet therapy.

Cabazitaxel, can you return for a second round.
I am now being treated with
docetaxel
(50%) and carboplatin, both at a reduced percentage, because of a low platelet count and fairly severe neuropathy. I have received five infusions, spaced out over four weeks primarily, having started January 30. My PSA has gone from 758 down to 176.

Tips on managing docetaxel
He had the zoladex injection April 5th and will be started darolutamide today (May 10) and
docetaxel
first session is May 15th. He is taking the triplet therapy approach. If anyone has any tips on managing possible side effects of
docetaxel
that would be wonderful.

Where to go after Lutetium 177?
Spouse has had a wonderful run on Lu177. Is now about to get his final infusion this week. PSA was dropping fast (down to 185) up until the supply issues struck; he missed one complete cycle which was stuck on the end. Since then, PSA has dropped to around 345 at the 5 week mark following the infusion

Adding TurkeyTail (or other Mushrooms) to my current treatment
Added
docetaxel
and have finished 4./6 treatments. Next is tomorrow and final in May. In November, I found that I have the Braca 2 gene. I am Ashkenazi Jew. Maternal grandfather died of breast cancer, and mother died of Pancreatic cancer with a few weeks of diagnosis.

Docetaxel or not?
After 4 years of Active Surveillance my Gleason went to 7. I had a 6 month Lupron shot and Proton radiation 7 years ago. 39 treatments. After 6 years of nothing my PSA started to climb up to 1.98. Did an Axumin scan and found two mets in my lower left pelvic Lymph Node. Took a Lupron shot and got

Chemo (Docetaxel) with Prednisone
My question is, has anyone taken a reduced-dose of Prednisone while on
Docetaxel
, such as 2.5mg twice daily (or eliminated it completely)? Would the reduced Prednisone dose increase the side effects from
Docetaxel
? I don't have any side effects now (only minor nose bleeding) and no fatigue (yet).

Post Xofigo, where do we go from here?
Even with no signs of radiographic progression and positive ALP results, my MO feels that the Xtandi is failing and wants to move to
docetaxel
. His fear is that it's not the Xofigo causing the drop in hemoglobin, but disease progression.

Kicked out of the SPLASH trial
Going to see the local oncologist tomorrow about starting
Docetaxel
. They claim
Docetaxel
only adds a couple months of survival, but as long as its tolerable, why not....

Dexamethasone
After 10 cycles of
Docetaxel
I'm having a break from treatment for a few weeks before deciding on the next treatment. My PSA is still rising In the meantime I've been prescribed Dexamethasone. 500 micrograms. I've read some previous posts on this.

Things have gone from bad to worse; need some hope and guidance.
I wrote a couple weeks ago how my dad didn't seem to be responding to his
Docetaxel
re-challenge.

Docetaxel and gemzar together. Too much?
It was decided to give him two infusions,
docetaxel
for prostate cancer, and gemzar to shrink the duct nodule. He receives
docetaxel
and gemzar back-to back one week followed by two weeks of only gemzar. A week of rest follows those three weeks.

Reducing docetaxel dose
Hi all, for his third chemo session the onc reduced his dosage by 25% because he was getting severe neuropathy in his left leg. Is this going to be less effective now?

Trial or not
After completing 6 rounds of
docetaxel
end of May 2022, I had clean scans including PSMA PET and my PSA was undetectable. As of my most recent tests, end of Feb, my PSA has already begun to rise slightly. I am just below 1.0 as of last week with increases shown 2 weeks in a row.

Scan Results are Back
Doesn't look like the
docetaxel
and triple therapy did much to help? Meet with the oncologist on Tuesday. Should I have certain questions or suggestions ready? MO did say he had a Plan B and Plan C if this did not work, just not sure what those are yet.

Mets in the liver
Hello, Yesterday I got bad news - several mets in liver after
docetaxel
treatment (last injection was on Sept 21). I know that the prognosis is poor. What options could you recommend? Thank you

Issue with pain
January 2023 started ADT (Zoladex) June 2023 went to MO with severe pain in his lower back and lumbar area, and started Chemo (
Docetaxel
). He just finished his 2nd cycle of Chemo few days ago. The biggest issue is a severe never-ending pain all around his lower back.. Can IMRT radiation help?

Chemo head rash (or maybe NUBEQA)
Rash is a 1% occurrence of NUBEQA, which I started two days before
docetaxel
, but I’m leaning towards chemo as the cause. Also osting here to warn others who haven’t started chemo that this is a possible side effect
