Hi all, for his third chemo session the onc reduced his dosage by 25% because he was getting severe neuropathy in his left leg. Is this going to be less effective now?

Of course a lower dose is less effective. But the alternative is long lasting neuropathy.
If he has a severe neuropathy they should stop chemo and look for other treatments. Neuropathy with chemo could evolve from sensorial neuropathy to motor neuropathy with paralysis.
Consider to consult with a neurologist.
Neuropathies caused by chemo with taxanes may be permanent.
I started getting peripheral neuropathy after my 3rd round. Not severe. Doc recommended Vitamin B6 100mg, three times a day. Never got much worse over next 3 rounds. Still take them along with alpha lipoic acid, 600 mg.
Agree with Tango. If neuropathy develops on docetaxel it should not be used further even at lower dose. Discuss switching to Cabazitaxel.
