Surviving in retirement
At 66 my PSA was 3400 with Gleason score 4 ; started
Docetaxel
and Jevtana until July 23 ; Now on Pluvicto have 5 more treatments to go. Some bone pain and weakness in legs from chemo; but getting stronger slowly.

Docetaxel Update
Prior to starting
Docetaxel
, my PSA was 23.6; after 3 rounds, my PSA is 10.7; a decline of 12.9! Yes, the SE are BAD. I have lost all of my hair. My fingernails are discolored, lifting off and sore. I have aches and pains, I can’t walk well because my balance sucks. Food does not always stay down.

Docetaxel and Excessive Tearing
Hi Gents, I have been experiencing excessive tearing as a SE from
Docetaxel
. I have an appointment with an ophthalmologist, but it’s over one month away. If you have experienced this SE, what helped the issue? All I am doing now are warm compresses and Vaseline around my eyes for dry skin.

Reduced-Dose Schedule of Cabazitaxel Viable for Seniors With mCRPC - MedPage Today, November 1, 2023
Despite providing a survival advantage, standard regimens of taxanes, such as
docetaxel
and cabazitaxel, have been associated with more grade 3 or higher AEs -- including neutropenia -- in patients ages 75 and older compared with younger patients.

Treatment options
He was put on
Docetaxel
by the new oncologist and his PSA continued to rise. I continually questioned what other options were available since it did not appear to be working and he did not suggest anything except continuing the chemo.

Pluvicto does not work better if used before docetaxel in mCRPC
More information on optimal sequencing - it doesn't matter which is used before the other in chemo-naive men who are metastatic and castration-resistant (mCRPC). https://www.prostatecancer.news/2023/09/pluvicto-does-not-work-better-if-used.html

Chemo with Docetaxel - side effects
Was all the way down to 2.9 day of second
Docetaxel
infusion. 64 years old and good health except for the MPC. My question is about the
Docetaxel
side effects. After infusion #1, I took nausea medicine for a couple days as a precaution but never felt sick. Days 5 thru 10 I had dry mouth.

chemo re challenge
He had good response to this 5 years ago- much better than
docetaxel
or jevtana. I’m wondering your thoughts about whether this could be effective again.. it has been 5 years but has other treatments and progression created significant resistance? Thanks in advance

Anyone treated with enzalutamide +cabazitaxel?
I've had sequentially ADT+abiraterone;
docetaxel
+carboplatin; Pluvicto. PSA never got below 3. Latest CT bone scan shows progression in a few areas. RO will zap the progressing areas locally. MO suggested cabazitaxel (1st choice) or enzalutamide (discouraged because cancer is aggressive).

Pca harbouring the P53 gene is often unresponsive to
Docetaxel
as well. Having said that these defective genes also make the tumour more radiosensitive. Probably the reason why you had such a good response with lu177 psma therapy. " Keep flying! Blue Skies! Sky King and Penny ( woof)

Enzalutamide (Xtandi): Start at half standard dose to extend efficacy time span?
Since January 2018 I have been on ADT, had
docetaxel
chemo in April 2018, radiotherapy to the prostate, seminal vessel and pelvis in November 2018 when PSA dropped to <0.1. PSMA PET CT scan in March 2019 showed metastasis on spine and hip joint which were treated with SBRT.

Question
Was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer with several mets to the bones and a Gleason score of 10. This was in January 2023. I have been on darolutamide and relugolix since then and also 6 rounds of docetaxol. Everything was good until recently with an increase in PSA from non detectable

Swollen Legs after Chemo
I just finished ten rounds of
Docetaxel
for stage 4 PC. At around the 8th cycle, I noticed my legs and ankles were swollen. Now that I’ve completed the chemo, the legs/ankles are still swollen and feel very tight and heavy. My thighs have also ballooned in size.

Abiraterone - alternatives
Only 3 months after completing 6 rounds of
Docetaxel
my husband was put on Abi as his onco felt the chemo had been unsuccessful. However the onco is now saying he will pull him off the Abi as his PSA has doubled for the each of the 2 months he’s been on it.

Jevtana and carboplatin
I have done 10 rounds of Docetaxol, had a PSMA scan which showed progression in a lymph node ( I only have lymph node disease no bone or organ mets.) I started Jevtana and carboplatin about 9 weeks ago. I have what is described as" PSA surge". When I started my psa was 4.4 now 8.3. Has anyone else

Docetaxel and discolored nails
I have never worn nail polish, but
Docetaxel
is really discoloring my nails. This is a fun way to cover up the problem. Since starting
Docetaxel
on 31 March, my PSA had dropped 6.6 points!
