PD Dialysis Question
Hi everyone. For those of you with PD experience, when you complete a treatment, does your machine show numbers in the negative? Meaning, it takes out the fluid you put in plus additional? How do you know for sure it is working?

Hello, intro
I just started PD and have been on
dialysis
for 5 months. I'm 56 and still working, bicycling and am involved with 2 volunteer fire companies. I'm trying to stay active and busy. Not really sure what to expect and will be getting an evaluation for transplant shortly.

Newbie and overwhelmed. Waiting on referrals to be finished to see a nephrologist.
At this point I'm terrified my egfr will drop so quickly that I'll need
dialysis
withing months. Has anyone else heard of kidney disease moving this rapidly? Oh, the doctor never mentioned ckd but I chalked that up with the rest of his issues.

Nettle Leaf Tea-conversations with Dr?
It can prevent the need for
dialysis
by enhancing blood purification, removing creatinine and uric acid, dissolving gallstones, improving urination and controlling infection and inflammation of the kidneys."

What's the possibility for a dialysis patient to make a living in a foreign country?
I‘m a kidney patient in northern China, and i have been on
dialysis
for 4 years. I really need to live and work in a free country, like America or Australia, where English is native language.

New Member Intro, Hello Y'all
I've met a few others with kidney disease but some seem to resent me since I still have functioning kidneys and I'm not on
dialysis
. I hope the online community is more understanding. Hope to hear from you guys and I'll be checking the boards regularly.

What is it like after transplant?
"Now that I have a new kidney.. these are all the things that I should do now.. " - Is it a very different view on life from when you were on
dialysis
? Or even before
dialysis
?

Cramps
I have been on PD
dialysis
for eight months now and have acclimated to the daily challenges except for one: cramping. I get cramps in my feet, calves, thighs and abdomen. I'm careful with diet and water restrictions.

The nephrologists in my area (and it may be the same all over) just seem to want us on
dialysis
asap as they own the clinics (that's where the money is). Diet: There is no Certified renal dietician at my local VA and the clinical dietician has proven useless as she just hands out printed sheets.

Do I try
dialysis
, hoping I might get some relief but knowing it will become my life and if I stop treatment I am basically writing my own death warrant.[??]

PD Dialysis Question
My mom was on Hemo
dialysis
twice a week for about a year. Her doctor thought PD
dialysis
would be better for her, especially with her active lifestyle. So she started PD
dialysis
a week ago and we noticed her getting bloated.

whilst in Newcastle.

Hi, haven’t been here much but
They almost put him on
dialysis
, I mean it was so so close, but finally his kidneys started functioning normally but that took 3 weeks in hospital. His liver also regained a tiny bit of function but it’s not enough.

Confused and Concerned
Dialysis
is out of the question. She will not do it. So, what I’m wondering is, are we at the end? Are we looking at her choosing to die? How can we help, what can we do? It’s very difficult. Thanks you for any help and support.
