methotraxate for polymialgia
I saw a Spanish rheumatologist today and on the basis that I have been on steroids for four and a half years, currently at 13.5 mgs
deflazacort
(pred equivalent about 9 or 10 mgs), she suggested I take Methotraxate once a week 10 mgs injected, so that I can reduce the steroid dose. it seems like a big

A bit of good news
The replacement for prednisone,
deflazacort
is not doing a good job, I lost 15lbs though for being off prednisone. But all in all some good news. For those in Florida, south of me, be safe.

I am also currently on 20mgs of
deflazacort
which is about15 msg of pred equivalent. Is it pmr playing up? is it piriformis? Is it myofascial.

wiped out after second pfizer jab
I've gone up to 21mgs
deflazacort
which doesn't seem to do much. I'm left pretty much incapable of doing anything on my feet for more than half an hour. Its been over three weeks now and I seem to be getting worse. I am supposing this is down to the effects of the jab. Any ideas please?

Stuck
I have been on 24 mgs
deflazacort
(and up to 40gs) for 3 months because of a flare. I am trying to reduce by 10 percent per fortnight but I don't seem to be making any headway: Lower back, groin, knee, shoulder pain and fatigue.

Does anyone know anything about the use of deflazacort instead of prednisone for PMR?
Searching the web tonight for prednisone information, I came across
deflazacort
for the first time. It seems to have better characteristics in terms of less bone loss and other side effects.

Mild SLE travel to Africa with Malarone recommended
My body seems to be responding well to my medications (daily 3mg Zamen a
deflazacort
based steroid, Plaquinol 400mg and weekly 15mg of methotrexate). All good with reduced inflamation markers. Like I said, I am lucky. My job requires at least one trip per year to Africa, sometimes two.

Low Platelets count.
When reached 56 K, the doctor decided to put me on corticosteroides, Calcort 30 mg (
Deflazacort
), for 10 days (30 mg daily), and wait 30 days for 2nd round. Can anybody give some advise on this matter. Is this treatment the right one?. My WBC are around 20 K.

Change in medication advice
I'm currently taking
deflazacort
daily with Metoject injection once a week and Folic acid 1 a week.I'm currently living in Valencia Spain so working with the Spanish health system is quite tricky. Anyway I have been on this combination for a year.
