Cardioversion of Atrial Fibrillation (AF)
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a common rhythm disturbance of the heart which may cause rapid irregular palpitations, chest pain, breathlessness or fatigue. Sometimes it is hardly noticed by the patient. In such cases it is often picked up by routine examination of the pulse listening to the heart or recording

Unsure what to do
I’ve been having dizzy spells since 2022. When my doctor was on vocation in March 2023 he took to the lowest dose from 75 mg twice a day to 25 mg once a day of Metroprolol. The pharmacist helped me to to come down to the lowest dose 25 mg once a day. Since I have been having Afib issues, Just not feeling

Heart rate increase
Over time, my NSR events have lessened and been replaced by SVEs most of the time - so my Kardia tells me. I have felt ok physically with this as when I told my GP, he said it only really mattered if the rate went up considerably, and as it is always below 70, ( usually around low 60s ) he was happy.

What is post ablation normal heart rate
I had my ablation last week for a fib which I have been told was a success. I have felt very dizzy with occasional ectopics since but bp has been ok and heart rate between 72 and 78. Then today everything has changed. Lots of ectopics and resting heart rate between 95 and 98. Should I be worried?

Pace and Ablate
I am scheduled for a pace and ablate procedure in October. I've been on multiple rhythm control drugs which sooner or later failed, including Tikosyn, had multiple cardiofversions, and one ablation which failed, I'm told because of my huge left atrium; so I wasn't offered any more ablations. All of

afib episode after decrease in metoprolol
Hello! I had an ablation 4 months ago and have been wonderfully Afib free except for a couple of small episodes during the blanking period. At least that was true until a couple days ago. I was told be my EP last week to reduce my metoprolol from 150 mg daily to 50. I did and it took 4 days to have an

permanent afib
My husband is in permanent AF, he has seen a doctor who didn’t seem worried , but told him to have an ECG. Unfortunately their ECG machine isn’t working and he has now been waiting four weeks for one. Should he be worried, he seems ok in himself. Every one here is so supportive I would like to hear

Atrial Fibrilation & Exercise
Hello! I just wanted to share my story here. I'm in my mid-40s and have had paroxysmal Atrial Fibrilation since early 30s. When I get AF, it never goes away on it's own. The only thing I know which gets it back to sinus rhythm is strenuous exercise. Either a run, jog, or brisk hillwalking- something

Lorazepam and Afib
I there a link between Lorazepam and atrial fibrillation? I used a 1 mg pill to sleep in the night and both times, after 5 or 6 hours, around 6am, I awoke in fibrillation . My usual dangerous time is the early hours of the morning, but Afib comes probably once a month . Is it possible that to

3% Afib burden and proposed medication
UPDATE: I saw an EP today. He advised that, unless I had a pacemaker implanted, medicinal control of my afib was too dangerous because of my already low heart rate. He also went over results from the 30 day monitor and the only time my heart rate went up to 170 bpm was when I was exercising while

Atrial Fibrillation AF (Drug information)
Upon diagnosis of atrial fibrillation (AF) many individuals are prescribed medication include antiarrhythmic medication(s). These help to restore the normal (sinus) heart rhythm. They work by blocking specific electrical conduction channels in the heart. Many can slow the activation of the heart muscle

persistent afib
posted before so will keep brief is it’normal’ to have irregular rythmn with palpitations (not rapid hr is generally 90ish) constantly. Still cannot believe this is not damaging heart or leading to hf. The actual afib does not particularly trouble me but the flips and flutters are so horrible my anxiety

Bisoprolol dosage with A Fib.
Bisoprolol. I have atrial fibrillation a lot of the time. Sometimes with my pulse in the 60s, sometimes 90s and sometimes 130s. My cardiologist has prescribed 5 mg Bisoprolol every morning and 2.5 mg every evening. I would prefer to vary these amounts and I wonder if anyone has any suggestions for me

Hawthorn supplement helped
I have had paroxysmal AF for several years, but episodes were getting more frequent and lasting longer in the past year. I am a 53 yo female, slim build, never smoked, in good health otherwise. My mom had AF (tachycardia) for 40 yrs and my brother has V tach, so it's very much genetic. I saw the cardiologist
