Digoxin as alternative to beta blockers?
Hi I'm just wondering if anyone has experience of. taking Digoxin as an alternative to beta blockers whichI don't get on with on a daily basis as they slow my heart rate too much and leaving me feeling unable to do much. I currently take Apixaban (paroxysmal AF) and Losartan and Felodopine for hypertension

Bisoprolol with low heart rate
Hi, I suffer from heart palpitations but don’t get them often but I live in high functioning anxiety because of them. I have been given Bisoprolol to try but didn’t take it because I was managing them but they have gotten bad again and today when I was super relaxed I have had a bad run of palpitations

Persistent afib
What exactly is persistent afib? Note definition is that it lasts longer than seven days but does that include short every other day episodes that still end by themselves? Can anxiety actually cause afib? Thanks for any thoughts. Read about a nasal spray that stops ventricular afib in its tracks but

Bradycardia
Have just gone through 10 hours of fast afib, and now my heart rate is 37bmp and I feel worse than when I was in afib! This has happened before to me and I wondered if anyone else suffers with this? I don’t take any medication apart from anti coag, and I’m so glad that I take this.

Headache post ablation
17 days post ablation for PAfib and I’m starting to get headaches… unusual for me as I don’t even get them when tired or dehydrated … can’t remember last time I had a headache! I feel the ablation hasn’t worked as I’ve had 2 sessions of AFib lasting several hours each time. I feel my recovery is slow

Is this signs of progress?
I have just started taking daily flecainide after AFib became more frequent. I have a perfectly healthy heart and mild hypertension. I am awaiting a prescription for a beta blocker to go along with the flecainide. I have had a couple of AFib incidents since starting the preventative dose where Fibricheck

Afib in a Young Person
Hey everyone, I am new to this forum as I have only recently come across this website. I am a 21 year old male with no prior history of heart health issues. Back in July of last year, I began professional school and after the first week of classes were completed the students held a large party. I attended

Back in Afib
I'm devastated. My last episode of afib was back in January which was triggered by the gastrogaffin and resulting diarrhoea I had while preparing for CT colonoscopy. I really thought I would stay free for a while as I come to terms with being diagnosed with PMR. Problem is this episode and the last one

Anyone got any ideas for sleeping well?
Most of my recently increased incidence of AFib occur either in the middle of the night or immediately on waking up after a disturbed sleep. I have always been an excellent sleeper and am convinced that lack of sleep and anxiousness is at the root of my issues. Anyone have experience of this and any

ICD implant and trapped phrenic nerve
9 months ago I posted re spasms I suffered when lying on my side and I was surprised to find that nobody else seemed to experience these after having an ICD fitted. Repeated questions to my GP and other NHS professionals were ignored and no one seemed willing to help. Finally I got a cardiac nurse on

Tight chest ECG
Recorded this ecg when I suddenly got a tight chest and breathlessness. Note that it shows LAD and no P or T waves. I've never seen this before. It normalised towards the end when I felt better. Could this be Junctional Rythm as my heart rate was 43 just prior to it starting and went up to 60 bpm.

Starting to get me down
After a period of Afib free I have had 4 incidents in the past week. All the same: either middle of the night or first thing in the morning. I was taking 100mg of flecainide in the morning and at night for a week or so and was free of AFib but then had 3 of them while I was taking it. I think I was

Wait time to see cardiologist
Hello everyone. My PAF has become worse over last 6 months particularly when I'm walking dog. (End up with a afib every time). Doc spoke to my cardiologist who suggested catheter ablation but need to see me with ecgs. So doc referred me but a 46 week wait for appt. Doc has now expedited me but still

Ain’t that a kick in the teeth -Part 2
In my earlier post I rambled on about raised BNP, possible heart failure etc etc. I promised to keep you updated, so here I am - with absolutely nothing to tell, as I am still waiting for my echocardiogram. I did however have a chat with a Dr, let’s call her Dr X. Phone call went like this Hello Mrs

Stroke Risk From Afib & The Role Of Blood Thinners
I was reluctant to take blood thinners from about the age of 68 to 72. My CHA2DS2Vasc sat at "1" for most of that time until it went to a "2." Actually, my Cardiologist didn't think I needed blood thinners either as I was having infrequent periods of relatively short Afib so he had me on low-dose aspirin

Just a update, it’s always nice to hear from people in my shoes, anyone with similar issues feel free to let me know or ask if they need any of my experience with this torturous problem. I’m now 3 months post catheter ablation! I had a routine echocardiogram done in March 2022 with positive news a

Afib progressing
So, I have had PAF (probably vagal) for about 5 years. My incidents have gone from once every every few months to about weekly in the last few months. Stress is usually my trigger and incidents usually take place during the night or first thing in the morning. I was using 200mg of Flecainide as PIP

Flecainide converted my fibrillation to flutter
I started on 50mg X 2 Flecainide a few months ago after 10 years of no treatment and the effects have been life changing. However the fibrillation had now been replaced by flutter and I'm beginning to feel almost as bad again. My RHR had always been in the low 50s and BP at 125/75 but now they are prescribing
