Why Do Symptoms Improve When INR Goes Up?
My hematologist told me today that there was no link between use of warfarin (
Coumadin
) and resolution of symptoms.

People take one thing for pain, another for GERD, something else for neurological issues, and of course,
Coumadin
and/or Heparin. Now I am not against medicine. I take my
Coumadin
religiously and have my INR checked.

Can someone help me with symptoms? Is is possible to be on Heparin and Warfarin and still experience awful symptoms? Help please.
Have been on
Coumadin
, but now realize I was experiencing symptoms all along that may be related to APS. I am wondering if others have had the problems I'm having. In the last week my INR mysteriously dropped to 1.1.

package insert contains a warning of the inaccuracy of the machine for patients with Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome
Warfarin, which is sometimes known as
Coumadin
®, is a commonly used anticoagulant. Patients on warfarin must be carefully monitored to ensure the anticoagulant level is maintained in the therapeutic range.

Damaging Effects of Antibodies
I have been on
Coumadin
since 2003 and was diagnosed with APS (positive for both types of antibodies) formally in 2010. In 2011, I had, what I and my doctors believe was, a nasty APS flare after my INR mysteriously dropped to .9 despite being on my regular
Coumadin
dosage.

I also eat the following: -eggs -dairy (milk, butter, GF cheese) -meats of all kinds (but only non-processed meats...they can't have any other ingredients in them) -GF home-made soup -fruits/veggies (well...I have to keep my veggies consistent b/c on
coumadin
) -potatoes -potato

I want to cry
So now they have me listed as
Coumadin
Failure. Well I dont know if
Coumadin
has failed me....I dont think I have enough of it! In the US self monitoring isnt commonplace and my doc wont allow it.

Another trip to the Emergency room gone bad...
(AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH) I explained what my doctor was thinking that
coumadin
doesnt work for me...
coumadin
failure...and he said that everything looks ok. I am so beside myself. He said looks like my leg just fell asleep more than it usually might.

I can HARDLY stand this anymore! At a loss right now....
I am waiting to switch from
coumadin
to Lovenox injections because I am in supposed "
coumadin
failure". I am waiting because the expense of Lovenox is ridiculously high and I have no insurance.

I'm concerned that plavix wont prevent a re-ocurrance of a clot
After my diagnosis I was put on
Coumadin
. I began having seizures caused my brain damage from my stroke. So my Hymatologist took me off
Coumadin
due to the risk of head injury and put me on plavax. I'm concerned that plavix wont prevent a re-ocurrance of a clot.

Low dose aspirin with Coumadin?
My rheumy suggested that I begin low dose aspirin therapy along with my
coumadin
. Will this affect my INR in a measurable fashion? Are there benefits to low dose aspirin that I am unaware of?

Warfarin Cause Calcification of Arteries?
Jack Kruse's website, he mentions that he gets his patients who are anticoagulation therapy off
Coumadin
so that he can go forward with fixing their vitamin D deficiencies. (he mentions use of Pradaxa, Lovenox and asparin). Is anyone else aware of this?
