Has anyone had their nose pierced while being on coumadin? Did you bleed a lot?

I can't imagine having it done while on coumadin, it is an area that really bleeds.

Good luck if you have it done, but I wouldn't, that's just me though!!!

Thanks for your response. My husband doesn't want me to do it anyways,

Only had ears pierced so cant really comment on that.....

Had tattoo's done....which I also know is supposed to be a no no.......but I have a friend that does it that I trust & I've been ok with them all.....but dont forget we are all different ....

I know its not a piercing....but I once 'bit my tongue' & it wouldnt stop bleeding for 2 days! I had to squash area with a padding for hours in the end before it eventually stopped! but that too is an area that will have trouble to heal & stop bleeding.

I wouldnt think it would bleed for too long? but perhaps wait to see if anyone else has had it done whilst on thinners first?

Can you purchase a "fake" piece of nose jewelry?

That's an idea but I'm not sure it would stay put on your nose. I'm turning fifty in November and getting a little crazy I guess.

I had a bit of a moment when I was 50 and decided to get my nose pierced, well. I was single again and seemed like a good idea at the time!

I didn't bleed at all. though do remember we are all different.

So do you still where an earring on your nose or did you decide your didn't like it? .

I decided as it kept falling out that it was a waste of time. But i was sorting out my bits and bobs and came across a lot of earings I used to wear so am going to get my ears repierced so I can wear them

I would love a small tattoo n my belly button pierced again as it healed up when i was in hospital due to having to remove it during an Op. Dont think i got the guts though now im older any how n my INR range is 3-4

I had a mole on the bottom of my foot removed surgically with an INR of 3.3. The only problem was keeping the suction on it enough so the DR could see how deep to go. She said it wasn't a big deal.

I'm new to these posts and this subject is three years old, but I'll reply with my experience with having my ears pierced while on Coumadin. I'm in the States as well. All I can say is that the salon was a bloody mess upon piercing one ear. I went through a hand towel with blood. Ear two was equally as messy. If I were fair to the person doing the work or to myself, I should not have had the piercing done. Do not do your tongue! It just is not worth the loss of blood. Best to you.
