Switching DMT
Per my choice from almost two years on
Copaxone
. Neurologist is all for it. I’m VERY scared to do so due to the side effects I’m reading about. Any feedback?

My doc wants to switch my meds from
Copaxone
. She suggested ocrevus and i said no bc I’m scared of pml. So she prescribed aubagio and now that I’m reading up on it it says hair loss is a side effect!

PPMS & Living my Best Life
I’ve tried several rounds of Solu-Medrol, in the beginning few months, 11 rounds of Tysabri, but taken off due to being JC+,
Copaxone
for another year and have been on Ocrevus the balance of time. Unfortunately I cannot say that I’ve noticed a slow in my progression...but who really knows.

Great Appointment
He suggests that unless my disease becomes more active, I can just continue on
Copaxone
. He spent nearly 2 hours with me and read through tons of history. He does suggest that I have an EMG to just be sure every neuromuscular disease has been ruled out, but that's all! Hurrah!

A very interesting resource, thank you
Copaxone
patient assistance. Not to horribly technical, but not written as if I am a fool. Remember I was a Pilot so technical books do not bother me. "YOU" may want something simpler. If "YOU" are lost ask your neuro for book advice.

Exactly what I was worried about!
So as the new neuro is wrapping up our appt yesterday, he said to stay on my
Copaxone
shots and other meds for now but that he may want to switch me to Aubagio later. Wait....what? What happened to not being convinced its MS?

Switching from Copaxone to Aubagio
I have been on
Copaxone
for 15 years with no noticeable side effects what so ever (except injection site redness). Aubagio has potential to damage liver and thin hair. Not too appealing but they say it has greater efficacy than
copaxone
.

Vaccines FYI
For example,
Copaxone
, Rebif, Avonex, and Betaseron don't prevent you from building immunity, and they don't make you more likely to become sick from any vaccines.

Has anyone been switched to the generic brand of
copaxone
? If so have you noticed any changes in symptoms?

Immune system problems
I then switched to
Copaxone
. I am currently taking nothing. My white blood cell count is low. My blood platlet count is low. We are taking a medication break to see if these numbers will rebound. My neurologist does believe the medication is the cause of the problem.

Secondary Progressive taking Copaxone
I'm just nervous thinking what if being on
Copaxone
is what has kept me from a major exacerbation. Ideas or opinions?

Why ever would “YOU” start on a
Copaxone
when there is an Ocrevus in existence. Start at the strongest medicine and work your way down if need be. Do not start near the bottom and work your way up.

Is it Just My Imagination?
I've shared the hold debacle about insurance wows and now taking generic
Copaxone
(Glatiramate Acetate). My dosage is 40 mgs three times per week and my regimen is Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I swear on my injection days my appetite seems like I have started Lent before Christmas!

Copaxone at Last
The medication FINALLY arrived yesterday. I have been trying to fill the RX since January 7! The neurologist’s office is supposed to “Facilitate you having your DMT.” What a joke😡🤬🤪

I actually can attest to this as she who must be obeyed has not had an attack in years and years, (on
Copaxone
) she drives and most times can remember things. I on the other hand do not drive and my memory decides what it wants to remember.
