I have 3 compression fractures in the middle of my spine due to my spell in ICU and losing loads of muscle support these have now turned arthritic to to make it feel so much better ( happened when I drove over potholes)
I am still waiting for my PR appointment but I know what they did last time I will not be able to do now!
I'm the same I fractured my spine in 1990 it still gives me a lot of pain especially in the colder weather and I know what you mean when u say it hurts when u cough
Im on this ESA thingy bed. Moved from incapacity benefit last year. They turned me down at the interview so I had to appeal. Got it all backdated but this year they are calling me In For another interview. Trouble is I have to travel about 45 minutes to get to the place as I cannot manage 3 flights of stairs incase there is a fire and the only ground floor office e is 50 miles away.
I will probably get turned down again and have to win the appeal and I thought they were trying to save money. This is such a waste of money what they are saving in cutting peoples benefits is going on the appeals system

Hi Daz I have the same spine problem as you I have spine blocks for mine done in theatre under live x-ray they should last about three months mine last about 6 weeks. They inject steroid and a few other things but after your like Linford Christy on speed, ask you DR to send you to the hospital pain clinic.
Atos Dr's don't know a lot I had to explain what a spine block was and then he didn't get it and he was English.
I'm back on the morphine because our hospital pain clinic has had the funds cut it does loads of bariatric ops so I think that is where the money has gone.
I sympothise with you,i have got copd, now I have trouble with my spine in the neck area, specialist says I need a operation, trouble is could cause peralysis, lots of other things but most of all voicebox and breathlessness, needless to say im not having it done, just hope it wont get any worse.
