chest pain 18 days after ablation
hello I am a 47 year old healthy female I had a heart ablation which the surgeon said went well. I stayed in two nights as my blood pressure kept dropping every time I would stand. I had a very heavy chest feeling almost like a balloon was surrounding my heart. I completely lost my appetite. The hospital

Introducing myself
I will be 55 soon and developed Afib a year ago in November. I am not overweight, exercise regularly, eat well, hardly drink, non smoker and not taking any medication. I have low Afib. My heart rate fluctuates under 100 mostly. I have been having it every two months (6-8 weeks), with one 4 week exception

Flecainide side effects
Hello All I've had AFIB for 10 years and I've always preferred the Pill in the Pocket. Recently I was advised by my Consultant to try 50 mgs of flecainide and 1.25 mgs of Nebivolol twice a day. I'm only into my fifth day and I find I have constant heartburn since day two. Previously the PIP usage

More On Rate Control Meds
Having a quick delve into the arcane world of rate control drugs recently I found a pretty interesting article from the European Heart Rhythm Association:
Beta-blockers in atrial fibrillation—trying to make sense of unsettling results
Some snippets: [i]"Heart failure with a reduced ejection

Anticoagulation Therapy for AF
Are you currently taking anticoagulants? Perhaps you are taking a Direct Oral Anticoagulant (DOAC) such as; Apixaban, Edoxaban, Dabigatran, Heparin, Rivaroxaban or even Warfarin? Have you have recently been approached or had your medication changed to an alternative? If so, have you experienced any

Need a rant
Last week I had some devastating news I have a rare liver condition and now because of the AF and bradycardia I have been told that I have no other options but to have a liver transplant because the AF complicates things I'm really upset and scared I really don't know what to do. I've got to have

Vitamin D, Fish Oil and NOACS?
Hi folks. On GP advice, and following the example of many lovely people on this forum, I take Vitamin D as one of my daily supplements. (The others are Vitamin C and Magnesium). I'm also taking Apixaban and other meds for BP and AF. I've noticed on the Vitamin D container label it says that the Vitamin

Heart di6
At 36 I had a massive heart attack. 4 years later a stroke I recovered. My heart is enlarged. I had afib given pills and ablation. It worked for 3 years. My afib is back and I am waiting to be treated. I still play racquetball twice a week and lift weights 3 days. I am 61 now. I have worked out since

Fast heart rate today
I've been back in AF for 4 weeks, and my pulse was 80-90ish most of the time, but this afternoon and evening it's gone up to 100-130bpm, and feels really uncomfortable. I'm on 7.5mg bisoprolol and 20mg rivaroxaban. In my first bout of AF I was on 10mg bisoprolol and my pulse always stayed below

Morning you lovely people. ☀️ 4 months in to a decompensated diagnosis and managing reasonably well with symptoms and bloods etc. Liver nurse very happy with progress and doesn’t see any reason why things will get worse but a possibility that compensation is on the cards. no alcohol since December

Random heart rate spike but no missing beats
Hi, does anyone else get random heart rate spikes for no reason which come straight back to normal range? My resting HR is 60, I was just brushing my hair and it spiked to 130, I felt dizzy, could feel my heart pounding in my throat. I couldn't feel beats missing when I felt my pulse. Blood pressure

LINQ ECG implant - what follow up have people had.
Hi everyone with or similar LINQ ECG implant fitted. My LINQ device was fitted in February of this year. In May I received a telephone call from the cardiology team, who I have not met, that an Afib event was detected and a medication change to EDOXABAN was prescribed. I have not had any further
